Purely selfishly, I hope the new list doesn't stray too far from the very 80s theme of the classic Genestealer Cult. For me, that (basically the velvet vests) helps make the list.

Thanks for the link Junkstar - read through the book over the weekend.

I'm thinking we'll need to restructure the basic list to be "Brood Selections" and then 1/3rd points available for Imperial guard elements.
A "Brood wide" rule introduced for tunnelling and fading away.

Additionally, Aberrations will need to be added in - thinking Ogryn with no FF value.


I'll post up the changes I want to make tonight and then update the army list.

Yeah, that's the ticket - although if they were introduced, I'd need to look at the Fanatics as the Aberrantions would surpass them

Just updated the list - big changes with the force composition breakdown.
Now we are looking at a "Core" cult list with 1/3 points allocated to subverted Imperial Allies.

Another big change is "The Father's Will" - Tiny Tim wanted this trialed for efficacy - please provide feedback.

Hey JJ,
Good looking list dude.
Love the 3 baneies for 400 p. I think that is cracking pricing!
Is it just theme that you have restricted use of shadowswords and the like?

Also i think/hope you have a typi of the deathstrike missile silo. You have it as 2x Mw 2+ tk d6 ind slwfire shots. Is that supposed to be SS or did you mean for it to be able to fire 2 per turn?

Also fathers will... is there a reason that you deviated from the expendable rule and synapse contruct?
I really like the brood rule from epic uk nids and think it should be in net ea as well - its just that it makes the guards and hybrids flaming exceptional! And way better than gaunts in the epic list as they have guns and armour and the hybrids are already dangerouz daves in cc. I think it might be a bit op.

Really digging how the list is coming along, love the structure and the baneblades seem spot on!

Not a huge fan of the "Fathers Will" rule it just seems a re-wording of the Synapse rule

It just seems it would unbalance the list and has no real fluff justification - also it will make for a boring list as the horde of infantry race up in their Synapse controlled cars and be in your lines in turn 1 leaving you to try and kill 120 wounds worth of units that don't care...

Seems to really mess with the flavor the list was going for completely, my vote is leave that for the nids - it's their rule and suits that game style and doesn't really seem to have a place here

Thanks for the comments guys - gotta test it out and the "The father's Will" is only applicable to Brood Brothers and Hybrids not their vehicles - though I better update to include Aberrations and fanatics
