How would you intend for the underlined part above to work? Would infantry be vulnerable to AT, and Armoured Vehicles vulnerable to AP? That could easily be a curse.

Ah yeah... good point. It just essentially makes everything LV doesn't it.

Not sure of the mechanic to use but essentially looking to reduce the risk of AT sniping against tyrants and carnies. But I suppose that's one of the key designs of the list - if you want mixed swarms take lots of them.

I guess part of the issue could be rectified if a symbiote for the warrior was introduced that gave it the commander ability. For 25 or 50 points?
