40k tyranids got Mycetic Spore models at long last. They look good:

It's noteworthy that their pods come with 5 weapons as standard (they're tyranids so this isn't surprising) and there are weaponised versions that instead of transporting have heavier weapons or embed in the ground and launch spore mines. No need to get bogged down in too much of the 40k detail but it does mean that they epic tyranid drop pods should come with a Deathwind attack like SM Drop Pods (just re-use the deathwind attack rules IMO).

Most epic armies have spacecraft and planetfalling elements – Marines, Chaos, Eldar, Dark Eldar, Orks, Tau, Skitiarii, ect. The armies that are most strongly associated in the background with planetfalling and spacecraft cover are space marines and tyranids so it's a shame and failing of the current tyranid list that it doesn't include spacecraft or planetfalling tyranids.

I know there's a separate variant list, going all out for tyranid planetfall, and that has it's place as well but surely the core tyranid list should include spacecraft and some extent of planetfall too? Obviously carefully restricted and costed – drop formations and their pods could count towards the restricted 1/3 and be costed distinctly on the high side of what people think potentially fair, so they pay appropriately for the boost.

It would need extensive playtesting over a long period but I'd love to have the option in the core tyranid list and would test it. Anyone else?

I would certainly like to see it added and would be happy to test as well.

Agreed.

I'm also very happy to see the Sporocyte - floating AA bomb - arrive in the mainstream Tyranid armies. I'd love to see alternate AA solutions for Epic Tyranids, instead of only having the Dominatrix.

I would not be interested in adding 'Drop Pods' to the main list. However, AA and the earlier/later phases are of interest to me.

Same here. The core Nid list works as is. Now that it's approved we can do alternate themed one such as covering the initial spore seeding phase before the big beasties have shown up. Good Intel BL

I like the EpicUK approach on spore mines. Nice and easy. The UK lists also gives Gargoyles a 15cm 6+AA, which increases their usefulness by far.
