Battle report
here.
ThoughtsI'm still learning and nids are not the easiest army for a new player.
A couple of more drops would be nice in the future. Lictors, bare dactylis broods and maybe some small "chaff" broods to throw infront of my opponent and wheel him in for an engagement for broods further back.
I need to work on my engagements. Pulling them off is a bit difficult since I really need my bugs in CC to be effective. Orks seem to do fine with just FF and lots of boys/grots.
Nids are faster than orks (on paper), but orks only need to engage within 15cm for FF where nids really need to close the distance and engage in CC to be effective.
The hormagaunts could have been used to better effect with their greater charge distance.
This was not a particular bloody game with the exception of a couple of ork grots, boys, bikes and flyers and a nid carnifex, malefactor and harridan.
I discussed with my opponent, that have been playing for a lot longer than I, that it might be a good idea to allocate more points to a new player, still learning the game, to even out the fight and make it more enjoyable for both parties.
SummaryPush forward, be more aggressive, and don't worry too much about swarming - and know your engagement distances!
