Battle report here:

http://sdahl.net/~sdahl/whepic/20130812/

Summary of post-game thoughts on the 10.2 list:

- I didn't bring Dactylis this game, since without their forward garrison option, they seem a bit too expensive.
- Lictors served as a distraction, at least, but still didn't seem very scary.
- Mixed swarms with a little of everything are flexible, usefully dangerous for their cost, and flavourful too. I like them!
- I didn't bring Bio-titans, since I think 3K points is too small a game to bring a Hierophant, and the Hierodule seems too badly nerfed with the 10.2 weapon swap to be worth its cost.
- Game was horribly skewed by abysmal luck (especially with activations, but no rolls were spared) on the part of the orks, so while this looks like an overwhelming win, the list definitely still feels much harder to play than, say, Marines or Eldar.
- Swarming rule, while little used in this game, seemed easy enough to understand and use. I like the added motivation to add Warriors to Tyrant swarms.
- Lack of airpower is easy to live with, as long as the opponent fails to activate their planes... I'm not sure I'd have liked 2 formations (6+3) fightabommaz that had actually activated consistently. I'd still like the meiotic spore "AA blimps" to return, somehow.
- Trygons were a bit underwhelming. In 40K, they are as tough as Tyrants and Carnifexes, have more attacks and are bigger to boot. Is there a reason for their poor armour and CC stats?

A 2DC RA5+ is slightly harder to kill than a 1DC RA4+, same goes for the attacks. I'm using the DC to make it slightly better than the Fex.
