A pal of mine, new to Epic Armageddon, is planning a Tyranid list. He wants a list with the newer stuff in, so I've pointed him to Hivefleet Leviathan.

Could anyone suggest suitable lists for 2000pt and 3000pt games, please?

These should be fairly 'all-round' lists, if possible – i.e. not heavily themed towards big beasts or swarms or genestealers, but what you might expect a typical force from Leviathan to look like.

Just saw this. I don't feel confident to offer feedback, sorry, but let us know how it goes (I plan to play Leviathan myself eventually).

I've played a couple of games with it. Against Eldar, so half the list feels useless, but still. MVPs for me have been carnifexes. 35 pts for 4+RA and Fearless (with Synpase) is amazing, and the FF variant is dangerous as well. Hive Tyrant, 'fexes and a few gaunts to spend swarm points on is brilliant.

I also tried out a fm of a Dom, two 'dules and some hormagaunts and it tore apart a Warlock for minimal losses. Mostly because the Eldar player was arrogant enough to invite me into CC though. He got really annoyed when the gaunts ate the TK hits and the 'dules ate the normal hits! That formation costs 700 points, letting you squeeze one or maybe two more activations in there.

Cheers for the feedback. What are the strengths and weaknesses of the army as a whole, in your experience?

For anti-air, do you find gargoyles embedded within formations are the best option?

I don't really like any of the options for AA :-/ Whatever you can do to put a BM on Air Assaults is what you should aim for, I think.

My suggestions would be to prune down the Dominatrix swarm (1225 pts is just excessive) to mostly Dom and 'dules (gaunts to spend swarm points). That gives you the points to add the Harridan swarm.

That's still just two activations. I'd replace the hive tyrant in the Biovore swarm with Zoanthrope(s), I just like it that my synapses are the same class as their brood creatures. Dump the Tyrant Guard as well, you want it to shoot indirectly. Prune some stuff to squeeze another formation in there - does the list allow another specialist swarm? Hive Tyrant + 3 Devourer 'fexes can be pretty obnoxious for low cost.
