This is just a "feeler" poll, obviously in no way binding.

No Spawning: As it says on the tin, no spawning.

Pro: Simple
Con: Dull?

One Spawning Pool: 9.2.1 style; all dead brood units go in a pool and and bought out with spawning points.

Pro: Not much bookkeeping
Con: Too much choice in what spawns where?

Individual Spawning Pools: Jaldon's suggestion; each formation has its own dead pool, and "respawns" dead units from it.

Pro: Doesn't interfere with BTS and Tiebreaker
Con: Feels more Necron than Nid?

A Spawning Queue: Leviathan style; all dead units are placed in a line and formations spawn in order from the front of the queue.

Pro: Most random spawning method
Con: Too complicated?

Freeform Purchase Literally buying new units ingame in some manner.

Pro: Really gets the growing menace feel
Con: Unfair on opponents?

Something Else

Please describe.

Depends. Did you vote on your own poll to start it off? ;)

The Spawning Pool like 9.2.X are dead brood units AND ones you can buy pre-game at a discount? Or just dead ones?

And "No Spawning" isn't just dull but un-nidish and just a lazy one out IMHO.

They're just general catagories; the details could change. 9.2.1 allowed buying pregame, but not at a discount.

i think that buying pregame at a discount is the best way to do it. i dont like the idea that only units that have been killed can be spawned, and prebuying them allows the greatest ease in balancing costs. if you want to allow some form of limited re-spawning in with that, ok, but again, simplest would be to allow discounted spawningpool purchases pregame
not a big fan of spawning queue, but i can live with it
i would prefer there be no spawning at all than necron style resurrection spawning

I actually really like the idea of the queue - but without actually testing it, I'd hesitate to vote.

That's fine, just remember that this isn't in any way binding, just a fact finding mission.

In all the years I've seen Spawning attempted, the Spawning Queue has worked the best in my experience.

However, I voted for Spawning (As an army wide system) to be removed. I've come around to the view that it doesn't add much to the army that simply larger armies wouldn't.

I do see scope for a more limited Spawning replacement system, tied to specific creatures that give birth to multiple units' worth of new Tyranids during even the short period represented by a game of Warhammer 40,000 (I'm thinking of the Tervigon & Dominatrix here).

The best argument I've heard for spawning is that it allows a smaller collection of models to give the appearance of a larger force on the battlefield; this is a fine quality in an army where the models are OOP or hard to customize.

With good infantry and AV proxies available from DRM, and even the prices for GW plastics & metals on eBay dropping, I think that argument is losing air.

:) Yes of course. Only that it can skew the early results. If running a poll, I prefer the author to vote a little later.
