OMG it has taken ages forme to collect enough for a decent force, and then I had to get a second core box set to get the infantry I wanted. I need more basic tacticals and other core troop types, but at the cost of AUS$80.00 per expansion pack, and no acccess to a resin 3D printer, and if I did, I would have to watch out for the IP hammer, it has been hard to get a force together.

I want the solar auxilia artillery tanks, shadow sword, the Arvus lighter, the Dracosan armoured transport. I want in future releases the stuff for say Fulgrim, the Kakophoni, Palantine blades, Alpharius, Learnean terminators, Javelin speeders, outrider bikes, scimitar jets bikes, land speeders, breacher marines, stormbird, fellblade, falchion, legion artillery tanks, kharbodis assault claw, and the various other drop pods.

Yeah, its not great. I will mostly be playing at local stores here, and so I want to keep minis to official sources and support these stores..... but that's making it all really slow.

Honestly, I have put LI on a backburner right now and I am waiting for at least most of the Astartes line is available so I can realistically put together a playable force based on what I want, not what is currently available.

Like CyberShadow I've tried to buy 'official' when I can to support my local store (as that is where I am playing). The exception was the drop pods (which GW are taking the piss with re. pricing) and I already had some printed Arvus fliers I will use.

But, by God this game has more barriers to entry than a 15th century nun's pair of cast iron chastity underpants. Trying to get hold of the expansion book so you can use some really basic stuff (land raiders, jet bikes), just the availability of the minis (feast or famine - the marine infantry boxset was out of stock for months, but my local place now has 38 boxes of Spartans!) There was no mention at all that the game even exists in the latest WD. It is like GW doesn't want the game to succeed, I'm not sure what else they could have done to try and limit its momentum - the game (like Blood Bowl and Necomunda) has such a fervent community that would have pushed the hell out of it if it was an easier sell - actually, the game being pretty hard to learn and play is not helping either - we are trying, but it is not being made easy.

Yeah, I feel the same way, mostly, as well I only have a FDM printer, and 8mm minis look really bad printed on fdm. Resin is definately the way to go, but I can not afford one, and the house where I rent does not allow stinky resin printers or even pets.

However, I have included a lot of forumware 6mm truescale Astartes because I could only get my hand on 2 of the core box sets (so 2 x the astartes and solar auxilia infantry box sets. I need 2 more sets of each of the astartes and auxilia inantry box sets, but Australia has not seen a restock since the initial pre-order came out and they got scooped up before I could buy any. The USA and the UK seem to have ample stocks of both box sets, but GW in their wisdom have ignored their valued customer in the far south of the Pacific on the other side of the planet.

Even to get the mechanised auxilia with dracosians (when they are released) I will need more auxilia, and then I also need more marines for the other formations they will release, and I want to do a small Night Lods formatoin or 2 in the future.
