Like most folks who have just gotten the new AT18, I started with one Warlord supported by some Questor Knights because that's what is in the "basic box."
However - using base-sized cut-out proxies - I tried a Maniple-sized game last night, and it's a very different game (in a positive way).
I really started having to make tough decisions on issuing orders to titans, as well as the order of movement and combat.
...and it was much more fun.
So cut out some cardboard or use extra bases you might have around to "up" your game.

The point I'm most looking forward to is a slightly asymmetric game with three Reavers on one side, versus a mix on the other. I expect that point will become the equivalent to the 3k/4k EA game.

3 Reavers is only 1,000 points or so. Based on the estimated game length in the rulebook I'm expecting 1,750 or 2,000 to become the standard game length roughly equivalent of 3k.

I believe the designers expect 1500 points to be a "standard" (read: tournament) game.
We'll see how that shakes out in practice.
