ALL HAIL THE HYPNO-TOAD NEW THREAD!

This is the starter for the now revived Epic: Mechanicum supplement discussion. Much thanks to E&C for his awesome work on this and allowing the rest of us shepard his creation to completion. Just to get some general housekeeping in order

For reference, prior and related threads:
Mechanicum - Revivie it thread
Old Mechaicum Ork dev thread
Gobgutz Badfang’s Stompy Onslaught thread (note: this fil has gone missing-list can be found on the defunct Conpendium however)
Fluff thread
Intention announcement thread

Current Gargant list dev thread (for reference)
Current AMTL list dev thread (for reference)
Current playtest Skitarii list dev thread
Adeptus Mechanicus Forge World Stenberg Variant (This has some interesting ideas that may be pilfered of use in the supplement scenarios. That and it's also neat)

OK so enough archaeology for now.

It's probably worth a little blurb somewhere that one of the big battles in the story text was based on a 20k per side megabattle we played at a tournament.

It was always my intention to include multiple lists: NetEA and EUK AMTL lists for example, to spread interest as wide as possible. YMMV.

hey hey, good buddy! Yeah PFE and I have offline stated the same things! Even your version of the PDF list will see an appearance as that's what was "historically" there fighting, for instance. The historical battles are not about tournament balance, after all, but refights.

Are there any bits around these parts about that mega battle?

That sounds cool, feel free to update stats of relevant units to match whatever is current on the main lists.

Photos of the day and a bit of narration are here: http://www.taccmd.tacticalwargames.net/ ... 88&t=20061
I always intended to write a little blurb and include a few photos somewhere in the book to mark the cool battle we played (still one of my favourite games I've played in).

IIRC I took a minor liberation with the story, deciding for plot purposes that the Imperator Titan survived and withdrew damaged rather than being destroyed on the field as happened in the game.

well the Imperial (crimson) Fists list is now approved so that should slot in nicely, I'll even paint up some of my extra bits and bobs all nice like for photos, I'm sure Vaaish's IF will be used for the main stuff, but mine are available for some modelling work otherwise ;)

Very cool. Black Templars are also heavily featured and they have approved NetEA and EUK lists now.

I even featured IG from the planet Netea to give an excuse to have a printed version of the latest Steel Legion list. And the Rough Rider army was included but the list never saw any concentrated development.

The confrontation late in the story between the Imperator Titan and the Two Gargants, plus Knights & Gunwagons (Ie: Playing out this iconic scenario) was also based on a game's results, but I didn't get photos of this one unfortunately. You can mostly tell from the descriptions of events what orders were issued (or failed), when formations broke, etc.

Yeah, I can set up some shots with IF if you want, but I don't have orks or an imperator :)

What we need is to have primarch do a battle report on large size.. ;D

Oh E&C the BT are not approve for NetEA, although a good push would seam them ready for approval and could be submitted...

Jimmy are you release the scenarios single in this thread or will you send me a copy by email, so that I can slot them into the schedule for testing....

Orks never interested me as an army so much as a collection of random bits. I still need to finish the forces I've already got and move on to eldar.

Let me shoot them through you first as they're still pretty rough and in progress. I have to dig them up when I am back at the laboratory; Karl is forecasted to be producing larger swells so it's surf up this weekend.

Thanks for the report.

If I was playing Orks I think that I might run out of sufficient numbers of Stormboyz and end up throwing formations away to allow me to recycle them.
