Resin sounds like a sub optimal material to make a base from IMO; it's brittle so more likely to break if dropped.

Depends on the resin. Some resins are pretty resilient and even the more brittle ones still flex a good bit before snapping. At base thickness I don't think it would be a serious issue.

Hi SquatWarlord, many thanks for the offer but there are currently several companies on the market selling both plastic and MDF bases in the appropriate sizes for the game, I honestly don't think you could cast them in resin at a competitive price in comparison.

Although I may be wrong about that.

The bases are 60mm x 40mm and 40mm x 40mm.


How thick do you want it 2mm? 1.5mm 1.8mm? With the models being small a thicker base makes it easier to pick up. I will get a price quote for you.

You could but this is a different type of resin it's closer to a plastic

Looks good!
I am not into any space games at the moment but those breaching pods look like they would be good combats claws for Orks and Chaos, and maybe Nids, DC3 class or smaller units.

Would it perhaps still be possible to have the gaps for the infantry bases cast into those bases?
