The problem with eloi specialists is that there are so many options in fact to many to put into one set. It may be better to create several specialist and elite sets for this range, i'll have a think on this.

Remember that infantry sets are rather expensive to get designed as each figure pose is usually around £20 a time with other special figures at £40 so the more poses you have the more money required to get infantry sets funded in fact it's usually cheaper getting vehicles done than figures.

Ah sorry man, I know the one mentioned is super wishlisty. The specialists are a big gap in the proxy range right now and I would love to see some.

Serious question: Do we really need 10 different poses on a sprue? I would be fine with a mono pose model for the normal specialists and a special exemplar, you could say, to lead each base. Monopose has ever bothered anyone before and you save a tonne on design costs. Just make sure the designs you do commission are top notch.

Similarly, the artillery crews you commissioned.... Why not just do some Monopose sprues of Radio Operator, Gun Loader, Gun Crew Comd? That's really all you need when you get right to it.

i've been irritated about monopose since epic 1st edition box set (considering the first epic marines where multipose metal figures). It would be an automatic pass for me and most players I know. I may be in the minority however.

Do we need 10 vs 5 poses? That's a great question but 1 would be a fail I suspect.

BTW Dakka, all these polls really need an "I am not interested in this faction" option. That way you can judge faction weights to the above votes. Not having that may skew your results.

Making different poses isn't too difficult, and if all the 5 different poses are on a single sprue, the said sprue could count as a single model anyway...

Even just 3 different poses makes a /massive/ difference to a stand.

I have some Italian infantry where there are only 3 poses for a unit type and even that lifts it up.

I wasn't really refering to difficulty mate but how much i'm being charged per figure pose. In most cases 5 poses are good 10 poses are better which usually includes a squad leader and heavy weapon specialist for regular troops.

I prefer multi pose myself so that's what i'd always be looking for but as stated for this particular faction there are just so many troop options that could be created.

@jimmy, could have done an i'm not interested in this faction mate but i'm not sure it neccessary i'll just pick the most popular item from the various polls and run with it. All armies will receive attention to some degree.

Thanks for all the input guys very useful, cheers.

I got that, but I just find it odd that an infantry of lets say 5 models (same model but different poses) would cost you at least £100 to just get designed. Also, I can imagine that casting would be relatively expensive as well since you'd need a whole lot of them.

By the way, will there also be other factions forthcoming?

Mate at the moment the only designer I know who can do infantry is charging those prices so that's what I have to pay.

Other factions are possible what did you have in mind.

I'd like to do corrupted forces put i'm hard pressed to fit that style into the DiD universe.

Fair enough! Can't argue with that. I've been wanting to learn software like Blender for years but never really got to it. :(

I'd love to see a robot faction. Their models could be used as count-as units for various armies in that other game system, think of those aliens with robotic suits, those undead terminators, or those machine worshipping humans. Of course it's tricky to make the aesthetic in such a way that it could fit with all three. You also don't want to get in the way of what Onslaught Miniatures are doing. I for one really loved what Migsula did with his TWAR idea, ruleswise he just went for that famous alien bug race from that other game.

Background-wise these could be machines created by the Cybershadows that have become independent, or perhaps a machine faction that (indirectly) influenced the Cybershadows to become what they are today. Food for thought anyways...

Another faction I've like to explore are those smaller humanoid aliens who love to mine stuff. However, with that faction I'm mainly interested in their space faring version, so mining ships and all that, rather than bike riding, land train cruising beardy fellows...

I think it kinda depends how it's done. Personally I'm not that interested in the overly demonic, cartoony, and covered in gore/skulls fellows. Spikes and darkness I don't mind so much, but it still has to look kinda 'smooth' (as smooth such things could be). More akin to the Black Praetorians from Miniatures of the North (pic 1, fellow on the right in pic 2, pic 3, pic 4, numero cinco, six, pic 7). Keep the vehicles blocky but with subtle spikes and you've got yourself something really cool IMHO. But perhaps this is something to be discussed elsewhere rather than in the Eloi thread...

Perhaps a set of characters all with different styles could be a good starting point - they could be used as such, or used in numbers as monopose infantry. Then later you can add more poses. Not sure if that works for not, guess it depends on the designs.

All these are good suggestions but really with this faction we need to have several sets to cover the range of troop types you suggest.

I'm thinking a specialist set should have what would be regular troop leaders such as man-witches, long-lookers and maybe some specialist weapons troops and also a recon team. Basically your citizen soldier command and support units.

All the other suggestions should be released as various elites packs during the future.

Suggestions please for what to have and in what ratios for this specialist command and support pack.

Perhaps the specialist packs would require something slightly 'larger scaled' than the usual pre-order model, sort of a mini-Kickstarter since you'd need a bigger budget to pull it off. Just thinking out loud here.

Another unit I'd like to see is that big super heated iron statue fellow with a big sword/spear/axe, like the
Incarnation of the War God.
