Following moredakkas advice, I renew my wish list for eloi here.

Go for stuff that people cannot find first. Simple stuff I suppose you already do slot of. Check eBay and forums extensively noting what is not there.

Heavy gravtank with modular turretry.
Most likely a teleportation portal and maybe artillery or AA variants would be sought after, I believe.

Teleporting heavy infantry would be nice too.

No good proxies for these things available and few used ones on forums/ebay.

Preferably size should reflect existing collections. This will promote smaller gap filling purchases. Too big/small in scale and people will hold off until an entire range becomes available, thus increasing risk.

I think the aesthetics discussed here point to the right direction. Sleek organic, sharp and extreme forward swept designs.

Keep up the good work!

Yup. , wot he said.

While it will be great if you eventually have full ranges for eloi (and all factions) you probably need to go for the widest market by targeting the low hanging fruit with backwards-compatible models.

On the chaos front, the discussion here has convinced me. As others have said, novan/elites you compete with forumwear, but tbh you main competition is the amount of GW stuff out there already. Chaos was not well served post-2nd ed so there potentially is a vacuum atm. But as i say, don't be surprised if you can only shift the range if you cover all/most of the bases for an army.

The good news is you already have a range of alt vehicles which just need some conversion parts to "spike" them up a bit. In the future you could do specific vehicles - for now i would recommend keeping it generic. You might even sell a lot to people wanting to convert old GW vehicles. Could work on the war stalkers too.

But you do need the daemon engine stuff. They are in more limited supply, and are dated/poor sculpts in the main. i personally don't really have a clue which are good choices and in high demand though. Perhaps ask on the LOTD forum?

The warcrab is ok, but not to everyone's taste. I could see a more blocky, spiky gun crab do well as mentioned above.

Also if you plan to do corrupted elites you already have a deathwheel from gregster, which is a good start. The assassin SH hull would be ideal for a big cannon for proxy decimators.

Finally, fliers. A good tainted fighter/bomber would be a winner surely?

BTW You did plan to army bundles at one stage ? Is this still a plan?

I've spent many years amassing enough models to build an evil crusade army, with daemons, war engines etc. I'd have loved to have a starting point like the current novan elite range, or the current sisterhood range (with more spikes and skulls, of course).

I still could use daemon engines and very large bombers, those seem particularly rare and especially hard to proxy.

I think the idea of conversion parts is a good one: you maximise the usage of the models you do make. With the added bonus that it becomes so much easier to start the other army if you already have all of those vehicles just sitting there on your workbench already....

As the discussion is tending in the other thread, I think consistency is what people prize most (especially if you have good designs, which you do!). I imagine many potential Eloi collectors will have partial armies from eBay and other sources so presumably a similarly-sized tank chassis (with modular turrets, maybe?) would be most popular with the current bunch of buyers. And even if new players would greatly prefer 'true-scale' (for example), they'll stick with something else if it's consistent.

I think the idea that Jimmy and I had is the optimal way for tanks: design a DiD vehicle that carries 5 troopers, that just happens to be a similar size to GW's Eldar vehicles. If you then have a 10-trooper vehicle with modular turrets, people could either use it as a super-heavy tank (GW-size) or a 10-trooper transport ('true-scale'-size), and so on, up to the big tanks—the exact sizes, obviously, would be up to the designer and the actual sizes of existing models.

I think the modular approach combined with a range of sizes would make VM's offerings quite attractive to many people.
-----------
I wonder if it would be helpful to talk about what people might use the existing Eloi miniatures for in the context of Epic? (Or, certainly, in other games, Epic just being the one I know about). I would have thought some of the uses were obvious, but last time it popped up, it seemed I had new ideas! My thoughts would be:

- Eloi Established: Guardians and Guardians with weapons platforms (basic Eldar infantry)
- Eloi Blademasters with shear (chain) swords: Striking Scorpions (elite Eldar infiltrating combat infantry).
- Eloi Blademasters with recurved swords: Howling Banshees (elite Eldar shock combat infantry) or possibly Warlocks (Eldar psychic leaders and bodyguards)
- Eloi Guard: Warlocks and Farseers (psychic bodyguards and leaders, one squad per 7 Guardian squads)
- Eloi Flittertank with anti-aircraft turret: Eldar Firestorm (anti-air tank, 2 per 3 or 4 main battle tanks)
- Eloi Flittertank with anti-tank turret: Eldar Falcon (5 troop transport with heavy gun turret) or Wave Serpent (shielded 10-troop IFV with anti-infantry turret in EA, other variants in older editions of Epic). Possibly could be a Fire Prism (main battle tank with big laser cannon). Doesn't directly match any EA Eldar tanks.

It would be nice if the Blademasters could add to the variety of Established units too, if they weren't needed for elite infantry. Hopefully this list is at least a good starting point for working out the next directions: it's been a while since people have posted much on Eldar proxy lists (to my knowledge, at least!).

@ Thinking Stone, many thanks for the post I certainly have a lot to think about.

@ Blip, yes sir i'd still like to do army deals at some stage i'd just need to gather some official lists together to build from.

It may be a good idea to start a fresh thread in which to post just army listings that could be created with my models.

You're very welcome, @moredakka! Now I just have to practise making them shorter and more concise :P

I think making such a fresh thread is a good idea, too. It can be a good resource for new players as well as a good way to prioritise VMs offerings.

Any chance of a lancer version? Perhaps 2 optional parts for rider types?
