I suppose then that your interpretation of IP differs quite a lot from mine. Not that I do not understand your worries, but I do not think that, say, agressivly forward swept Wings is that easy to steal from the public domain....

Point me in the right direction and i'll see what can be done.

I need images with ideas and a style to adapt for this faction that everyone can get on board with before serious finance can be committed to the eloi range.

Want to expand this army need solid ideas and suggestions to gain a direction to travel.

So guys up to you how we proceed with this line.

The flitter tanks look great in the renders.

(For EA at least) all you really need is an APC version and a superheavy, plus a fighter (and maybe transport aircraft) and you'd be good for a lot of builds.

As mentioned above, only a few specialist infantry are worth doing, and with the right paint the established could pass for most with the guards likewise fulfilling a command requirements. Perhaps some dimension jumping versions and some rocket launchers later? Onslaughts' jet bikes are passable, and you're good.

Sounds like a style of mini Wendy isnt planning to do in 6/8mm any time soon, so shouldn't be much competition.

Hmm, I'd still try to go for a more organic approach to this faction. Grown vehicles and such. That doesn't automatically have to mean bug-like aliens, just more biomechanical, which fits the background of the Eloi.

I'll try to find some inspirational pics as time goes, but you might want to watch the latest Dawn of War trailer to kinda get a grasp of what I mean. Oh yeah, here's another idea.

Grown look is interesting, but maybe difficult. For inspiration, I find the upcoming drop fleet commander range interesting. The Cylon raider is also a good source of initial inspiration. I honestly cannot see how doing this would be any more dangerous than any other designs

Grown might be a bit of challenge, especially in 6mm scale, but it's doable. Look at the alien ships by Wintersforge. The organic textures are possible. Another idea would be something akin to a texture like this, also doable. Or check the two links over here.

Yes, I know the examples are all in space ship scale, but keep in mind that that's a scale that's a lot smaller and detailed.

That would be pretty cool! If we are going for the tree thing it might be cool to introduce a notion of a world tree. The idea might be kinda fitting for the Eloi and their usage of genetic technology to alter themselves (and maybe the universe around them).

Their usage of organic materials, maybe even directly growing vehicles kinda makes me think of programmable materials, could see Eloi armour working this way, maybe even morphing camouflage. Hmm, maybe even some sort of healing bioplastic akin to this? Kinda reminds me of slime mould.

I don't know if the Eloi, like the counterpart from that other company are a dying race, but I couldn't help but think of Eloi ruins when seeing this. Yes, we're delving into Eloi architecture now. But keep in mind that architecture can influence the aesthetic of a race. Look at the role of gothic architecture in 40k design. So to get back to the Eloi, I realised I should really watch Jupiter Ascending. Despite it not being such a great film (from what I've heard) it does have some interesting ideas. Like this and its ships. And if the Eloi are this genetic engineering faction, why not have them grow humans? The dark counterpart of the Eloi in that other gaming universe seem to grow their warriors as well. Reminds me of the Matrix, something akin to this perhaps?

Yes, this is beyond mere proxies to complete your armies, but I thought it nice to kinda look a bit deeper in the design, and one day perhaps also into the background...

Interesting ideas guys but translate all this to an actual set of drawings of vehicles it's the only real way to convey what's in your head.

I need other software in order to do organics, shame really since its learning curve is holding me back. I'm almost tempted to say you should perhaps find an actual sculptor rather than us digital boys. :)

Could you not do the base in whatever you use now and then load it up into Sculptris or something?
