Wait....

This is the style that "winter infantry" are?

I haven't looked closely because its not really my thing (and so my opinion probably shouldn't count for much), but I assumed "winter infantry" would be styled similarly to vostroyans and valhallans, tall fur hats and parkas.

I would have expected gas masks and great coats to be classified as "death world" or "toxic world" or something like that.

On a completely unrelated note, what's the best way to get the Novan stuff in the states?

@ForgottenLore, these were designated winter troops before I owned them but anyway think extreme cold conditions needing rebreather masks and heavy trench coats. Easily used to represent other troop types should you wish.

Only place to get my stuff is via my website, no USA stockist at present but i've had a few interested parties so you never know it may well happen.

Cheers

I'd suggest set of 6 figures as well or a larger package size of 6 squads. We know an obvious use driving these sales and that requires lots of guys with flashlights (50 in fact)

Well they used to be in bigger packs but everybody wanted smaller cheaper ones hence I went for 50% of the old pack sizes.

Could go up to 50 troops in a pack if people will buy them. Still looking to do army sets but haven't the time to workout 1000 point EA armies to work to.

I think bigger packs would be better, maybe only for Winter troops range. Then it would be easier and cheaper for people to field huge DKOK companies.

Presumably with the new printing they would also be a little smoother and a little taller?

The current Vanguard ones are 4th generation recasts, so there should be a marked increase in quality and a very slight increase in size (recasting tends to shrink the model a couple of % points).

That's what i figured - good news thanks. :)

I think JZ might have been referring to a slightly bigger pack so people could leave out the heavy weapons if they want WYSIWYG. FYI (as i know you don't play EA) the two main factions these guys would be proxied for in EA and their "ideal builds" are roughly as follows :

Steel legion : 6 flashlight stands, 6 with auto cannon (one with Commissar) + HQ stand with AC.

Krieg : 19 basic stands all with flash lights (inc one with Commissar) + 1 HQ stand with H Stubber.

(I have no idea about Net epic).

Personally I think the current set up is great - packs of roughly SL company sized basic dudes plus a pack of specialists to add as required to make up HW and command stands. Are you planning to re-print the specialists to match? If so a pack of 10 stands (5 squads) of basic troopers would work and i'd leave out the HW+loader and put them in the specialists.

You can always offer a bundle discount for krieg players - most would need 4 or 6 packs (40 or 60 stands) for an army from scratch.

Anyway, put me down for 100 dudes when they are ready.

BTW - happy to help putting together EA army bundles, but you might want them vetted by a better player than me! :)

Happy to receive help on any army bundle ideas you may have.

I'm having proper squads put together because my models are not just used to play EA there are loads of alternative games out there and a proper squad set seems more appropriate somehow.

Yes the specialist will receive a make over eventually.

Cheers

But then make the 'squad sprue' consist of 12 figures, allowing players to choose whether to go for 10 figures all with rifles or pick the heavy weapon upgrade. That way you allow players the choice, as well as provide them a little bonus to play with (extra bits in the bits box).

I think malika2 has really hit the value proposition. Of course you've got the sales data and pocketbook so do what works for VGM
