I like. Not so keen on the jackel - but then I was never that keen on its "inspiration."

Yeah it's cute, but I wonder if narrowing the eye windows would make it look less like it is about to burst into tears.
Quick brilliant edit with paint. E.g. something more like the following. I prefer the second one.

These are great concepts.

@Markconz, the second one does make it look more agressive for sure, i'll consider getting it tweaked a bit then.

I've had several request for a lighter recon type stalker so this model appearing first in the line up is to cover that request. Basically it's a reduced sized and slightly modified dreadnought hull, and modified and reduced in size leviathan legs which means existing 3D designs could be used to reduce costs to me but also get the model produced much quicker.

Any other suggestions to improve on this thing before I lock the design, speak now please?

Thanks people.

As long as the head is removable like the other big robot things, you can really just replace it with a similarly sized bit.

I much prefer the new dread and levi heads; one of the reasons I hadn't purchased the models when first released was that I didn't like the head options available at the time and wasn't sure of what I could use as a replacement.

Yes, the eye narrowing does help to give it a more aggressive look.

For the most part I think you are on to a winner, I couldn't really get behind the other stalker models but this has some great potential. The carapace looks pretty good as is, I like the reactor vents especially, as does the leg armour in general. Sign me up for some when they are in production, worst case scenario I can most likely rearrange the components to fit the specific look I'm after.

That said I do think there are two serious points I think need addressing. Bear in mind this is just constructive criticism.

Number one is that the legs don't look high speed and agile enough. They look quite static and upright, I don't think that suits a pack based hunter killer unit. I would like to see it crouched for the kill and/or bounding forward as a standard pose. Sort of like ED209 in the legs. It definitely needs more dynamism for sure.

Point Two is that it needs a more aggressive looking head/cockpit. Think rabid dog more than sad puppy. I'd go for angular, knife like, lines but perhaps try to avoid going too boxy like others manufacturers have already played with. I think deflective angled armour, whilst still keeping the canine styling, would look good, and would be a bit unique to boot. I'll look out some concept art on that if there is any interest in this line of development.

Just my two cents though, please carry on normal jogging.

The jackals head will be a loose item and the kit will retain two of the original big stalker head designs too.

Ok so i'm coming across to the idea of a more aggressive looking head so Sayerwolf sir i'm happy to see concepts for your suggestions. Constructive criticism is welcome and saught otherwise I wouldn't be posting the images i'd be going ahead with production. After all what's the point of me paying to get new models made if no one likes them.

Thanks for the input guys.

It is a great model. But:

The legs could be more crouched.

Mostly the head should be re-designed. There is two design possibilities for this type of walker that makes sense to me, and this heads makes some kind of compromise that does not do anything for me. Either:

Do a pure dog/wolf head like the old school GW-version (mars pattern)

OR

Make a more "realistic" cockpit which just happens to share some general shape of a predator head. (Like the lucious pattern)

I agree - more literal dog mask or more abstract.

Perhaps a grill rather than teeth? And the cute little nose is a bit too "on the nose." :-)

Otherwise I think it's a winner.

New head designs for the Leviathan and Dreadnought stalkers respectively, thoughts.

One suggestion for the Jackal would be to take the same head designs for the other stalkers and stretch them out length-wise and make them narrower. Pull the jaw/grill section forward, and push the top/forehead back and lower to make a sleeker profile. You keep the same knight/helmet design elements of the existing heads but give it a more aggressive/predatory slant.

Interesting idea wonder what it would look like, something to consider.

I think the dogs-head style is definitely the way to go. I also like the multi hinged leg design which is a nice addition. The design is very in-line with the previous Dreadnought Stalker which ties the types/range together but comparing the two the chassis/carapace is very similar as well as the leg components and feet. It'd be nice to see something a little different to make this model stand out from the rest of the range more. But if this isn't possible a really unique head design could compensate for this. Only my personal view, I suppose its difficult collecting opinions as everyone will have a different view.

Great to see some new models sponsored by Vanguard! Keep up the good work.
