Hi!

Observation. This is in regards to the last posts on the 13th.

I find it interesting the devastators are more expensive than tacticals (which they should be), but less expensive than assault marines.

Does the formula weigh more heavily close combat ability than the extra attack dice and range devastators have over the others?

Traditionally devastators were much more expensive than all else, so I am intrigued behind the valuation of assault and devastator units in regards to each other.

Understandable. Tweak2 has slightly increased the cost of Devastators so it's not as bad as it was under tweak1. Still, they are interesting. They break down as follows.

Assault Marine stand:
_ Infantry (3) 15cm (3) Jump (1.5) = 3 * 3 * 1.5 = 13.5
_ Save 5+ (2) = 2 * 3 = 6
_ CAF +3 (3) = 3 * (3 + 3 + 1.5 - 1) = 3 * 6.5 = 19.5
_ Weapon (2) 25cm (0.5), 1 shot (1), 5+ (1), TSM 0 (1) = 2 * 0.5 * 1 * 1 = 1
Model cost is thus 13.5 + 6 + 19.5 + 1 = 40

Devastator stand:
_ Infantry (3) 10cm (2) no mods (1) = 3 * 2 * 1 = 6
_ Save 5+ (2) = 2 * 3 = 6
_ CAF +1 (1) = 1 * (3 + 2 + 1 - 1) = 1 * 5 = 5
_ Weapon (2) 75cm (1.5), 2 shots (2), 5+ (1), TSM -1 (2) = 2 * 1.5 * 2 * 1 * 2 = 12
Model cost is thus 6 + 6 + 4 + 12 = 29

Thus, while the Devastator's weapons are clearly superior to that of the Assault stand, they are outmatched by the Assault stand's better speed, maneuverability (Jump), and CAF.

Hi!

I find that very interesting, since in play, I have found I use assault troops more often that devastators.

So I believe the formula has it right to price them that way.

_ Any model described as "... on Jet Bike" looses their Infantry type and Move value and gain the Cavalry type, a Move of 30cm, and the Skimmer quality.

is there a listing for the Land Raider Company? (or do we just work it out from the detachment values+command unit, minus the company discount?)

Also - where do i find the Titan weapon values? (had a look at TL list, but couldn't spot them)

SquiggleAmp is correct on the Land Raider Company's current value. That is a standard formation, and not all of the standard formations are included in the expanded posts. Note that all three of those posts (the NEG and the two posts of Expanded formations) are current Tweak3 values.

Note that the expanded Company values are slightly off from what they should be due to a computational error on my part. I have not yet taken the time to fix them as they are less important than the normal Gold formations. While they are wrong, the error is only slight (generally about a 5 to 10% cost difference), so they are close to correct.

I'll get the Titan Weapon values for Tweak3 up here in a bit. They are in that thread on Facebook if you were following that.
