Cybershadow helped with the intro blurb for the Genestealer Cult book. Some of the units were inspired by the Epic40K Genestealer Cult list, though most of it is consistent with the Rogue Trader/40K second ed canon.

The Chaos Squat list is a bit hokey in spots. I'd probably redo aspects of it. Some of it was clearly designed to give a good home to some Exodus Wars products too. It was with Tom's permission, though I never did get any reimbursement for that :)

Hi!

Send me any updated list, or additional ones, and I'll upload them and make them available.

I love the Cultist list in particular!

My big regret with both lists is that there are no pics if any armies. It would be really helpful to know what proxies the writers had in mind.

For the Chaos squat one I'd like to know which Exodus Wars units were intended for the list. Frankly I'm too lazy to sit and compare the Khazari products to the list...

It's a real shame that Deacon has announced that he will be redoing the Legion line as this would have been perfect to go with this army list. I just don't want to buy an army that I think may not be as good when the next lot of minis come out. :-\

The problem was Bissler, that back then there were no suitable proxies. Some of these were literally scratch built.

It's easy now, since we live in a veritable Golden Age of 6mm availability.

Hi!

I would need someone to send me a copy (don't have one) to make it available.

It is linked 9 posts up :)

The Genestealer Cult army is pretty easy. Most of it is standard PDF units, many of which can be sourced from GW models, though of course these will be harder to find now. The Onslaught stuff is awesome for the extra Genestealer bits, though back in the day they were easy enough to scratch. Pop a genestealer head on an eldar warlock....instant magus. Add a genestealer claw to a guardsman, instant hybrid. Patriarch was easy too....find an old Rogue Trader genestealer familiar...they are perfect! For the Limos, I use Epic Ork Mekboy speedstas with the weapons removed...the fluff was even adjusted to make them a good fit. If Onslaught come out with better that's all good too. If I can get some free time I'll try and organise a battle and do a report with lots of pictures.

The Chaos Squat list is also pretty easy to proxy for using GW Squats and Chaos stuff. Most of it is straight forward. The Ziggurat I started to scratch build.....still an unfinished project I'm afraid.

Happy to send either list as a PDF to anyone.

So, let's turn back on the tyranid list discussion please ;)

2 monthes ago, we faced a strong tyranid list and we thought that some tweaks were necessary:

- Cards
Adrenalin Surge: according to text, it works on a brood, so effect could apply on a hierophant brood! We tested and it's terribly dirty.
-> Bio-titan brood should not benefit from this

My friend who plays nids since they appear in Space Marine told me that it's very easy in NetEpic to have good cards from the deck. In the past, there was some "bad" cards, cards to give orders to a brood that was on instinct order. All those cards have disappeared, leaving only "good" cards. In large games (>= 6000 points), with 2 dominatrix & many other synapses cards, you can easily reach 5 hive mind cards per turn (in fact more has you start with 5, use them in the turn and at the beginning of end phase you discard the ones you don't want, put them in the pile and pick "new" cards. Doing so, it's quite easy to obtain regeneration card on several turns... Playing a combo of Adrenalin Surge + Overdrive, you have some bio-titans that move up to 75cm per turn and shot in first fire...That's a bit too effective.

- Ripper Swarm is not a "brood", that's cool because tyranide player can not play card on it (cards can be played on a "brood", not a swarm).

- Harridan is a bit cheap for what it can do. Maybe a cost increase is needed ~175 or 200 points for 1 ? That's +25/+50.

Hi!

How would you solve the issue of the cards? Lower the acquired number? Certain cards are "once per game"? I would rather not add back in the old cards, since they were mainly useless. I would think lowering the amount drawn would be better.

The harridan is indeed very useful. Most flier are. A higher cost may be the way to go.
