Hi!

I'm thinking the newer formation rules will allow for a few variations of this theme. :)

Primarch

I like the idea of variations. I have one Cyclops and am sure there probably aren't too many people who have two (obviously not yourself Primarch!).

Hi!

The goal of platinum, besides the new units, is to make formation construction more friendly to the realities of collecting epic models in current times.

So baseline formation will be smaller and there will be a greater ability to add additional models to a formation in ways net epic gold does not allow.

Primarch

Yep.
Guess making the Doom Anvil Squadron more generic and something along the lines of 2-4 Praetorians with costs associated with each different type.

Matt

Hi!

You could even start the formation at ONE praetorian and assign a cost for adding more of one type or another. This way people get flexibility, but then must adhere to formation coherency.

Wouldn't each Praetorian form it's own 'detachment' and thus not have to worry about unit coherency? I'm referring to the first paragraph under Unit Coherency on page 20 of the 'netepicgoldrules' pdf, of course.

Even if they did have to worry about coherency, it would just about have to be the 25cm rule for Titans from 2nd Edition. Can you imagine having to keep three Praetorians within 6cm of each other? Admittedly they move slowly, but yikes...

Yeah, they would be treated as titans for coherency, so 25cm.
The flexibility of the Praetorian Company would allow people to mix and match or have all the same type as they see fit. Given we already have the Doom Anvil company, the precedence has been set for mixing them up.

Hi!

My thoughts exactly. :)

Is it intentional that Squat Robot models have a 5+ armor save while all other Factions that use the Robot model have it as Save 4+? In 2nd edition, all Robot models had 5+. Was there a reason that Squat Robots were not upgraded for NetEpic or was it an oversight?

Hi!

This looks like an oversight to me. If anything they should be "better" not worse.

So definitely bump them up to 4+.

Looking at the Squat Praetorians now and I'm wondering why the picture for the Behemoth is actually of a Tau vehicle? Could this please be replaced with an image of the actual Behemoth? If there is no actual Behemoth model, then a drawing or something else would be better, but picturing a Tau flyer is mildly confusing.

Hi!

Actually there is a proxy model (I think). I wonder if I did something wrong when I updated them.

Hi!

I will definitely use this picture Scream!

I may need it to be sent in a certain resolution and size, I'll let you know when I need it. :)

The Onslaught proxy is unavailable at the moment if that's the one you mean?

Hi,

a question about the recon Gyrocopter that comes with squat Colossus:

- according to colossus card: 1 Colossus & 1 Gyrocopter
> the "&" should indicate that it's a single detachment so 1 order for both
- according to colossus description:
"The gyrocopter counts as a separate detachment so does not need to maintain coherency."
I'd like to know what exactly mean "count as a separate detachment": is it really a separate detachment ? So 1 activation for the Colossus itself and 1 for the recon gyrocopter so 2 orders and 2 separate activations. Or do you place 1 order for each and when you activate the "Colossus detachment", you activate both Colossus and Gyrocopter ?

I've always played the Colossus and it's Gyrocopter has sharing the same activation. Do note that the Colossus itself is a Praetorian (counts as a Command model) and thus does not receive an order counter. As far as I can tell, the Recon Gyrocopter does not count as a Command model, and thus must have an order counter. It only counts as a separate detachment for coherency purposes.

Again, that's just me, so others may do it differently.
