Weird. We must have had some sort of a communications breakdown somewhere then. Would you PM me a link to the newest file so we can use that for the rest of the series?
If the changes are as major as you say I think the easiest thing would be to simply link to the new version explaining that the list has been updated instead of re-releasing the article. :;):

Anyway thanks for the heads up.

Cheers! :)

SNAFU

Translates as
Situation normal - all fouled up

Some people prefer f***ed up instead, however.
I am told that it's in common use among military. :O

Epic Index Astartes - v 1.3. The problem might have rooted from a mistake of mine, where I forgot to update the version number displayed on the downloads page despite updating the file itself.

Thanks for the pointer TFH,

I must confess I am not sure how thats happened since I only have the 1.3 version which I was editing and passing on to WN.

I have sent the new version and we can mention that in the editorial using the link to pass people on to the latest version.

Thanks again WN for finishing up while I was away!!

Hi Guys,

It looks as if PG may have had his fill of Epic. Check out his blog:

http://crusades.blogspot.com/

I've seen a few posts in other places asking about it so I thought that I would put a quick note here to indicate that I am no longer one of the Moderators for the SG Forum. I actually stepped down about two weeks ago but with Andy being on vacation and having a serious backlog of mail and work it took a while to make that official.

On the plus side it gives me more time to work on the CSM on OGBM lists.

New focus
When I first started this blog I intended it to be primarily focused on Epic gaming. This was rather easy to do since at the time pretty much all I was doing was playing Epic, testing Epic and writing Epic rules.

Currently though almost all of my Epic gaming is playtest games and even then those games are not as frequent as I would like. Primarily this is because most of my gaming group stopped playing Epic. Not that anyone dislikes the game but the "reorganization" of Specialist Games made most gamers re-evaluate their priorities and its difficult to want to spend time and energy on a game system that even its manufacturer won't support. For the most part the local gaming group here doesn't play any Specialist Games any more.

So lately I have been playing a lot of Flames of War, Warmachine and have even begun to give Confrontation another close look. I've also gotten rid of most of my WFB books, an Ogre Kingdoms army, most of a WFB Chaos force and all of the Space Marine figs that I had collected in preparation for a 4th Ed Marine army. Frankly if GW wants to promote the "core" games and not support any other games then I guess I need to examine what GW games I play.

And there are other companies that seem to want my money. GW only seems to want my money if I jump through hoops to give it to them. I can go to a GW store but if I want any Specialist range game items I need to catalogue order them. Quite stupid. even moreso given the precipitous drop in sales they have registered with the bursting of the LOTR bubble.

So to reflect that this blog is going to change to be my musings, comments and photographs regarding all the miniature gaming I do and not just Epic.

Update: I am in fact still working on Epic. I am still on the ERC, still working on the CSM and OGBM lists and waiting to start working on updating the current rules. I just am not looking to "play" with GW on their terms.

Shalom,
Maksim-Smelchak.

Hi!

I remember him saying something similar on some forum when the fanatic re-organization was "new".

He still stuck it out though, but he seems to be catching on to all the things I usually rant about.

To bad his group is dumping epic, but thats the way it goes.

Besides, everyone knows that the TRUE epic gamers live on this forum....  :;):

Yep.  A lot of the "hard core" group are getting pretty cynical about the future of SG-supported Epic.

It would be nice if they would just sell the minis, but without rules support and a venue for marketing, I don't think most of the powers-that-be at GW will believe the minis can sell on their own.

I have a strong suspicion that once the older models are re-released, that will be the last hurrah for work on Epic.

I finally got a chance to read the latest issue thouroghly. Well done guys!    Excellent issue. Loved the conversions.

I've been thinking about the possible trademark issue with the name "'eavy Metal" that was raised on the SG forum.  I agree, if it ain't broke, don't fix it. I see no need to create a unique name for it and if GW's lawyers insist on a name change, just change it to "Heavy Metal." No way that phrase is trademarked.

Hi!

I guess in a real sense, Incoming! IS the epic magazine we all now depend on for our hobby.

I have a fiction article half done too- but how much fiction is good in the Mag?  It doesnt want to be flooded with the stuff either.  Its the diversity and balance of article types which help make it so useful and interesting

Is there some other, more pressing requirement for particular articles??? ???
