Hi vanvlak

The location (tiger aside) is the ruins in Kefalonia.

My day job stuff can be found here.

Thanks Jimbo, I'll probably contact you in 'professional guise' one of these days. As to Kefalonia, I'm pleased I guessed about Mediterranean source of the picture :D I guess I love this sea of ours. Very nice photos there on that site; I've only been to Crete in Greece (well, ok, besides Athens airport!), which is equally splendid. I'll illuminate you on the 'Greek plant' ?- it's the prickly pear plant, and it's not Greek, I'm afraid - it's found in most of the Mediterranean, including Malta, where it is known as the 'Bajtra tax-xewk' (usual note on pronunciation - the 'j' is a 'y', and the 'x' is equivalent to 'sh'). 'Xewk' means, in fact, spines. The spiky green lumps with yellow ends at the edges of the leaves are the fruit, still unripe. When mature it comes in green, red and yellow colours, and is delicious (sans spiky bits, of course). Thev've recently commercialised a liquer made from it, called (naturally) Bajtra liquer.

PS - you need to add Malta to your list!

I finally have time to add to this, although I am sure that everyone is bored with my history by now...

Name: CyberShadow aka Iain

Age: Actually, the big three-zero tomorrow (no longer a twenty-something!)  :l

Country: South of England

Email Address (Optional): Check my profile

Role in the EPIC community: Webmaster of www.epic40k.co.uk, EpiComms Swarm Tyrant, editor of Warp Rift, always ready to present an opinion on rules development (no matter what experience it is based on)

Armys collected: Oh boy, here we go...

Epic -
I own first edition (which I really should play again), third edition (which is good for a quick game), fourth edition Armageddon (which is my favourite version) and NetEpic (which I need to organise a game of to learn).

I have pretty much all the Epic armies (no Necrons yet), but most of them are still waiting for that base and coat of paint. My main forces are Imperial Marines, Craftworld Eldar, Orks, Genestealer Cult, Tyranids, Chaos.

Battlefleet Gothic -
I have a few ships from most races, but my main fleets are Chaos, Eldar Corsairs, Imperial Marines, Tyranids and a home-grown human colony.

Other Games -
I also play (if I ever have the time) Vis Bellica, Mein Panzer, Advanced Space Crusade, Space Hulk, Battlestorm

I also own the rules for a few more games, although I rarely (if ever) get to play them, such as Vis Magica, Warrior, Battletech (new), Modern Spearhead, Panzer Marsch, Panzer War, Fistful of TOWs (new), 40K (first, third and fourth edition), Full Thrust, Warmaster, Armati 2nd edition, Harpoon, and a load more that I cant remember right now.

I should also state that I talk about games a lot more than I play them!

Favourite Army: For which game? I guess that it would be Genestealer Cult (Epic Armageddon) and Chaos (Battlefleet Gothic).

Largest Army: Ha! I dont know if I even have a full force painted up for any game! I guess that it would be Marines (Epic Armageddon), although I hope that my Orks will eclipse them, and Chaos (Battlefleet Gothic).

Versions of EPIC currently played: See above.

In your own words: I started roleplaying many years ago, beginning with AD&D and moving on through TMNT, WHFR, Aliens, and a few others. I then got introduced to 40K (first edition) and Space Hulk (first edition). From there, I picked up 40K myself, and then moved on to Space Marine, and then AT. I spent my formative years only in the GW aspect of the hobby, became disillusioned with it around second edition Epic and 40K and while I never really left the hobby, I cut back severly. I the returned with Epic 40K (third edition), and after that started to look around and realise that actually other companies make these games too! I now enjoy rules and talking, since I get little playing time and my mini horde is in storage.

Ahh, yes... I must get around to that one day...
