Hey I know this thread hasn't been Looked at in a long time, but I've been curious about these units and I thought I'd add some more to the list.

Meganobs

Big Meks

Mek Boss

Cybork

Flash Gitz

Ardboyz

Lootaz

I had a payday recently and got some Vanguard "Skinner's" miniatures that could pass for some these. I feel that the Orks need some more heavy infantry to help deal with Terminators and the like.

And now there are actually miniatures for them it would be great to have some stats for them. The Burna Boyz flamer could be the same as the Flamer marines. i.e. 10cm. Cc +1 Flamer 25cm, 4+, 0, but how about the others?

Feel free to put stats to them yourself. You have two options for that.

A) There is a conversion thread around here somewhere dealing with converting W40K stats to Epic.

B) Make them up from scratch, possibly based on existing models, as you did above.

Either way, use the Points Formula to put values to them.

I'm pretty busy at work at the moment, but I'll give it a go.
It shouldn't be too hard to come up with stats. That points formula looks a little harder to figure out. But the brilliance of it is that it doesn't really matter what stats we come up with as long as its points cost is fair.

In about three weeks time Games Workshop are going to release the next version of Warhammer 40,000. As a part of that release they are going to publish stats for every unit in the game, including radical changes like movement stats ;).
I'd suggest that this is a perfect time to port units over to a project like platinum.

Simply come up with a standard conversion process as a community, apply it, and apply the points formula.
Fun times ahead :D

Yes, I love that idea. I'm a Netepic guy all the way, but I also like the new units that actually fill the tactical gaps as well as just looking great and feeding my imagination. Like the Space Marines having fliers somewhere between a Thunderhawk and a land speeder for example, and given that there are "fan" models for some of these now, I'm looking forward to the option of using them.
