Hello! I'm new to this forum, but I've been friends with the big guy y'all know as "Deacon" since the mid-90's. Damn...just saying that make me feel old. :)

So here's what I'm doing. I'm building the background of Onslaught. The stories, the characters, the universe...all of it. Of course, I can't do it alone - I'll need your help.

I've got a blog going with some short stories in the Universe of Onslaught already completed. Stop on by and check them out. I'll post to this thread with questions and requests on how to enhance stories and backgrounds.

Oh...and there's an Onslaught book coming out...hopefully the first of many. This year.

So let's gear up and build this damn universe together! Have you ever had a company ask you for so much input into the models and characters you want to field on the table? I think NOT!

Hey! OTC junkies!

Ever wonder what it was like when the OTC had to make their escape from Earth? Check out the short story posted now, Okami Rising on the OnslaughtofWar blog.

Thanks for hoping in OoW -

Taccom peeps, we'd like your help flushing out the Onslaught Universe. You've been instrumental in getting the miniature line to where it is today, and we'd love your input when it comes to the fluff to back it all up. Just like my miniature concepts, we'd love your honest feedback and critique when it comes to the fiction that will bring the universe to life.

If you guys take the time to check it out - we'd love to hear what you think!

Thanks -

I'm going to mark this thread so I have easy access to it when I get a bit of insight that might help.

Splash,
Sure thing! Please check out the stories on the blog that are there now. I'll post more here and there, along with sneak previews of the novel and progress updates. Your feedback on the current work is much appreciated - it's not set in stone.

Thanks!

I've given a bit in the past in threads that were showing off deacon's evolving ideas. But I'll keep an open mind and see if I can actually contribute as much as I've done before.

Thanks!

Hellborn....why not? Or, perhaps Grud, since they fit into the human background so much as well.

Two for hellborn, one for Grud then? Gersh... could I write them all into one story together then? I've got an idea floating around in my head about a human world (run by house Rhonn) that has to prepare for the "long night" when the hellborn are able to invade (based on something to do with planetary alignments) and the Grud supply them with rune wards and weapons that can harm the hellborn before the Grud hightail it outta town.

Anyone want to read that? Suggestions?

Heck, I'll read any and all of it.

Have you seen Pitch Black? The alignment of the planets cast the world the protagonists were on into absolute darkness for an determinable about of time. The creatures were able to come out then, since they couldn't abide the sunlight, and eat everything in their path.

So, I like the "planetary alignment" thing for a Hellborn invasion, but why does it have to be that way? I don't know too much about the Hellborn as they stand (they shouldn't be an exact copy of Chaos, should they?)

The Grud could be in the middle of a trade negotiation and it is interrupted by the alignment, accidentally opening up a pathway they are all too familiar with, so they decide to offer protection to Rhonn (some "acquired" Frogulan tech), at a fair price, then leave once the deal is struck. They realize that a good client...or a living one...can be dealt with again in the future.
