Then you are cursed. I've got 20 year old pieces I've been playing with without issue. Try playing without mittens on, yeah? ;) Getting on actual topic...

Deacon, is this design going to be a basis of a line of heavyweight super weapons? Because I could easily see this having a choice between upper emplacement of the weapons. For instance, some type of super plasma shooter mounted on the top of a common base vehicle. Could theoretically pull in more than just not-squat players/collectors as say a wonderful ordinatus.

WIP shot of the Grimnir Battle Train:

No cars yet - but there will be a multitude of types.

Thoughts?

Looks good! I like the ram front. How big is the base in the picture? I don't have a very good sense of scale.

Thanks! the base is 20x40mm

Hmm, I'd hoped the model would be a fair bit bigger personally. A certain other model was similarly sized, but obviously underscaled going by the size of the detail (as with titans and WE generally from the era) and actually meant to be larger. I'd prefer a bigger version myself to fit wiith other 'truescale' models.

The main gun looks too small for sure - it doesn't look much bigger than the twin battlecannon in the turret but I'd expect it to be a much larger and more powerful weapon. I see it as more of a direct fire weapon that a mortar too and your current design looks like it wouldn't be able to attack targets close to it.

Thanks for the feedback -

Image

Increased size by 15% - it's now hanging over the sides of the base - but I want to keep it on a 20x40 for multiple reasons (my WIP rule set being one of them)

Also increased the main cannon size, and leveled it out - making the firing mechanism housed in the main body which I think works..

What do you guys think? An improvement?

Thanks for making it larger! Looks better to me :)

def an improvement.
Something about the chimney stack just make it look hokey to me however. Maybe something more like angled back and then pipes pointing out? Right now all I see is back to the future 3 :-[

edit: Through the powers of the internets...

Well, that part is better, however, and I say this as one of Warcradle's little DW monkeys . . . Kinda getting a little tired of the "cow-catchers on EVERYTHING!" aesthetic. Oh, it kinda works here, given the whole 'land train' styling, but I was think more a 'dozer blade would be a better style. Or, thinking on it - How about a snowplow-like front for clearing rubble/walls/slow infantry out of the way of the force following on behind? :D

No problems with the rest of the look. :)

Some questions and suggestions.
How does it turn? Since you are using tracks and wheels the only way to turn it is to have the wheels turn. With the set up as is that is impossible.

Size: you have reasons to keep it on a 20 x40 base for your game.
I would prefer a better scale wise model.
Somethings are just bigger. Make the model look good first and worry about what size of base it fits on later. You are creating a game you can always create rules for large tanks on larger bases.
There is nothing wrong with a 30cm wide and 60cm -70cm long model on a 40x80 base.

Side doors: The door frame is too low to the ground it would get stuck on terrain. The doors are human sized too as your Grudd are shorter and wider than humans it should be a bit more square.

Top turret: does it have a 360 degree fire arc. If yes it will hit the smokestack.

Heavy front cannon: Move it forward 6 to 8mm so the gun barrel overhangs the front and put it in an armored turret. Drop it down 3 mm as well removing the level with the headlights.

It'sa friggin sci-fi armoured land train with shitloads of guns, who cares how it turns?! Realism is hardly interesting when it comes to theese models i think. They need to look good and have lots of guns.

Theres always regular military models if realism/functionality is a big issue...

He asked for suggestions I gave feedback.
You are dissing my feedback if you like the way it looks and don't care about realism then say that.
If a very small change makes it look better and more realistic then what is the problem?
Think Star trek communicators and flip phones. Sci-fi turned into reality i would like to think any sci-fi vehicles could work if we had the tech.
Cheers
