Yes it absolutely will be. Curved surfaces are way more time consuming than using more simple shapes. The goal at this stage is to brainstorm basic concepts.

Yes, of course, if deacon wants to get that specific and if it really matters. He ended up flipping the engines on his small grav tanks because I pointed out that the debris from the ground would be sucked into them as they moved in the original position.

Yeah, I know. I was just being silly. In a different mood I might have made the same comment as you. ;D

SAINT THOMAS AQUINAS" MAGNIFICENT HAT!!!

That is shaping up to be terrific!

Now, to calm myself down . . . What about some robust ground attack flyers, somewhere between Helicopters and Planes, for this force in a style like the Tenkos?

Now I almost wish I had held off getting this Tau Manta I'm struggling with. Darn you deacon for not showing this off a month ago.

:)

I don't need a 10th epic army, but after seeing your doing the flyers...Tau is number 10

Alright - so I focused on the large engines, and rounded off some edges, added a few details - but a lot of it wasn't touched - just want to see what you guys think of the new direction here. Still VERY WIP but already it looks quite different.

Thoughts?

This is awesome.

Front looks like an APC was welded on. Join it up a bit more or just put standard spaceship type nose on.

It is a welded on APC lol - just a place holder to get the basic idea across for now.

I was going to make the same comment about the nose, but if you are already planning on working on it more then there is no need.

IMO the 2 railguns on the front also look a little bit "bolted on"

Other than that though it is looking fantastic.

Can't say much yet, it's a definite evolution from your first picture, and I'm eager to see where it goes. Good work. Again.

Well, if you want to sell it, I can do with 2 and use this beast as a pure bomber :)

On the latest WIP drawing/render - I like this a lot. The Railguns look fine to me, though a row of missile launchers beneath each would be cool as well. I actually *like* the nose as it stands ( Only thing I hate about the Manta and this is the "two cockpits" look, which seems to be a design note from the Department of redundancy Department ) and would be happy with that as is.

Nice, still waiting for the organic, streamlined shapes and details. But you are on the right track.

note - It won't be overly organic in the end. The overall style of the OTC line will be present here also - some smooth surfaces, some harder edges, etc.
