Hi all

I have been playing NetEPIC for several years even if I am not an active forum user... The reason of this post is to comment on the (perceived) absence of the option of a Robot Maniple to be fielded as part of an ADeptus Mechanicus Army...

Seeing that a robot detachment of 4 can be fielded as a support card by 100 points, I was thinking in creating a custom Company card composed of

3x Robot Squads
1x Adeptus Mechanicus Overseer

The price should be 300 pts, with the Overseer free but with no transport.

How does that sound to long time veterans?

The points cost looks about right, but there is one major problem. The Adeptus Mechanicus list does not have access to Robots. Thus your formation is impossible under NetEpic Gold. That said, if your opponent is fine with it then go ahead and use it.

The Adeptus Mechanicus not having Robots would seem to be an oversight, but it really isn't. Their main thing is the Knights and Titans, with all the other troops being of secondary importance. Thus when they want something "robotic" they field Knights. [As a note, just in case it is not obvious, the Adeptus Mechanicus list in NetEpic is NOT based on the recent 40K AM lists, but rather on the list from the Titan Legions box set from long, long ago. That said, there is at least one person who is planning on 'updating' it to current standards for the Platinum version of NetEpic.]

If you really want to field a Company of Robots, you can always have Squat as allies for your main force and select one or more of the Squat Ironbreaker Robot Company.

Yes, the main reason to create this was precisely because the AM does not have robots. I agree that they did not have back in time, but looks weird now...

I did not check the robot company in the squats list. Worth having a look at it.
