Thanks lylekelm, just playing around with what you wrote Mattman and looking at the detachments both devastator and predator came up with this.

There have been a lot of discussions about the how to layout the army lists for Platinum and to save on space and not having to create one massive book that may require constant updates, I think we were going to go with a basic book for each race that was chapter/craftworld/guild non specific, then gradually release those chapters etc as addendums. It would mean that there is at least a basic army list for everyone to work with, even if we haven't got round to working out chapter rules yet.

that's a great idea

Hi!

Looks like you two have a good understanding of "modern" 40k organizations.

You should work together. ;)

Mattman,
Would I be right that in a Predator formation there would be a minimum of 3 tanks (2nd Edition) with a maximum of 4 (E:A).

Vehicle formations are less set in stone than infantry formations. 3 to 4 would be fine, but I was thinking of setting the limits at 2 to 6. This would also allow E:A players to run 2 formations of 2 instead of a single 4 or NetEpic players to combine 2 squadrons and make a single one of 6 if they wish, plus it let's players do whatever they want in between. This would be applicable to all marine vehicle formations, not just predators, and can make things like whirlwinds more appealing if you can have more of them in a formation.

Yeah cool happy days. Just pop in the formations and I'll populate. Mattman are you just Space Marine or all army types. some more tinkering. thinking Space Marines in red instead of the blue (back to the old days). Had a look at a few more formations in line with the original blueprint.

Good stuff and a real step in the right direction. From a design pov it would look better without the gradient, just a flat blue or red, and without rounded corners or the drop shadows.

Thanks for the feedback bruticus agreed about the drop shadow it's ok on a white background but messes up the effect when anything else is put behind them

Cheers

different styles of layout. think the square is a little bland and the drop shadows on the outside have gone but I like them inside it helps the formation pop.

Why do you have 2 models in the base formation, shouldn't it be 3?
