Our latest KS update presents some photos from Ken Whitehurst's photo stream with his 6mm painting techniques. We're working on showing off fully painted options for the boxed games in two distinct schemes. These are for the OPFOR in our game and show the kind of quality we'll be doing for anyone supporting a fully-painted set (a few limited pledges are available for those). https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/ce ... ts/1499151 |

Are those minis in the photo finished (aside from basing), or still work in progress? |

Still WIP. This was before a coat of dirt wash and some final detail (windows, etc.) |

Fair enough, wasn't sure from wording if it was WIP or representative of final quality for one mini. I entirely agree on the awesomeness of technical pens. But it's perhaps worth pointing out that, depending on the pen, they can take hours to dry fully on miniatures. This means that if you do a lot of pen work halfway through the painting process, anyone with butterfingers like me is liable to smudge the pen work while finishing the rest of the detail. |

Hi! I learn something with this post. I didn't know what a technical pen was. Now I do. Primarch |

I discovered them when I was in architecture school, and have a full set of Rotring Rapidographs for drafting, but those are like $40+ each. The one in the photo is from a set I got a Michael's for $10-$15 for a set of 5. Amazon carries them as well. There are several varieties, and they vary by thickness. Great for tiny panel lines, etc. I'm using one set just to fill in panel lines on all of my Robotech RPG Tactics models. |
