Steve -

Can you get back to me re: our email conversation from a few weeks back? Close to being time to get that project rolling. ;)

All looks amazing so far.

You said orcs and dwarfs will be first.

What time frame are you looking at?

I think around mid-July to August is realistic for the dwarf and orc fleets. The Dwarf fleet is nearly done sculpting, a lot depends on how long the orc fleet takes to sculpt.

I heartily endorse this line, almost as much as the 3mm sci fi! It’s a line that hasn’t been tried properly since Man o’War, and it looks super cool!

What size are we looking at? Something like 1:1200? 1:2400? I recall a series like this from Spartan I think and it felt too large to me, with big, empty, featureless decks. These look smaller - but maybe that’s just my mind’s eye?

These are definitely smaller. I own a few Uncharted Seas fleets, but I agree, the ships were always too large for me, it prevented me from really getting deeper into it.

For my line, the biggest ships will only be in the 60mm length range, with most ships being in the 40s.

Got the dwarf fleet masters in, although they will be redone to have hollow bottoms to make metal casting more feasible. Comparing sizes with an Imperial Cog and the Dark Alliance Galley, which has been re-sized and had its oar banks made integral to the hull.

Orc fleet has been hand-sculpted and is complete, Imperial fleet has 1.5 ships left to be sculpted. I am liking the latest prints of the Dark Alliance ship, so I believe I will commission the rest of that fleet soon. I may split the lauch of the line up by Dwarf+ Orc and Dark Alliance + Imperial.

Could you suggest a fantasy naval ruleset that would be good for these bad boys? Because they look amazing!

I'm relatively certain there will be a dedicated set of rules for this line of miniatures.

Listen to KaJo, he knows!

Meanwhile, here is a preview of an Orc Galley with a Dwarf Dreadnought for a size comparison:
