There are three humans factions i hae in mind currently. The Kingdoms that are to the west. Which rely heavly in cavalry. The insect nomads to the south and humans that life in the dwarfen cities.

Gallery for the insect nomads:

On this image you can see some human cavalry for the western kingdoms.

The dwarfen faction turned out to be the most difficult so i will put them at the end :D Including its allied troops.

After the orcs and the giants are finished and coloured I will do the elves and the western kingdoms. Then i have nothing left then the dwarfs. At least for now.

Fantastic, awesome vibe to all of it, but those warbeasts, they are something special.

Are the tribeswomen that much taller than the men, or is it just perspective in the pic?

How tall are you thinking for the gnoblars in miniature terms? 5mm?

Something I am also struggling with, CAD sculpted or physical? I feel like the style almost lends itself better to physical sculpting...I am open to opinions though.

I think this would look better hand sculpted, great work! I can't wait to see more.

As for Orcs this was written on the first post:
Quote:
Females have a much lower birth (15-20%) rate and are also much bigger than male orks. Males are only bit bigger than humans. Females are often double the size. After reaching the age of marriage a female ork often gets several husbands over the years.

@primarch - Thanks!

@thedespot29 - The Warbiests are definetly my favourites too. Together with the bat riders :D
Yeah woman are nearly twice as big. So around 11-12mm. Everything is roughly to scale with each other (only th warbeast are bit to small so i made the gray shapes.)
I thought about 5mm for the gnoblars as well.

I think CAD or physical depends on the skill of the sculpter. I know a digital sculpter who could make amazing vibrant sculpts but his daily rate is 300 euros. Thats out of budget I fear.

@McJakub - Thanks, mate. :) Yeah, espacially the warbeasts could look amazing in traditional sculpting.

@thedespot29 - He is incredible fast. But he has not yet worked on that scale. I cna ask him for a price :D

I have a question what rules would you use for the miniatures/setting?

I love love love the Jaklaa warbeast. It looks amazing.

I would actually tend towards digital sculpts especially for the larger pieces, as the straight lines and smooth weapons will stand out if even a little bit off, while as DasBilligeAlien says, there are some really great digital creators out there.

Snorks would probably suit physical well enough. The rest of the stuff(mostly infantry)... I don't know, it could go either way

As to rules, I was thinking of converting the old Epic40k rules for use. Strike Legion also has a unit designer and plenty of rules, I was thinking of just using some custom mods for that as well.

I wrestle with the 3D design. To be honest, it is just heinously expensive. The sculpting itself is typically a bit more expensive, and the printing costs, for a legit printer are like 60-80% the cost of having them physically sculpted. For vehicles I don't mind so much, but the infantry, the printing costs are killer. So it makes it difficult when you have vehicles where you need to have crew included. Because I could get the creatures and mechanical portions CAD sculpted, but then I need to send some master casts to use as a template for the physical sculptor for the crew. It also then risks the line looking a bit off kilter, since there are mixed aesthetics.

I'll have to mull it over a bit more....

in the meantime, bugs!

The idea is to have these mastered so that the sculptor can sculpt the mechanical portion onto them, and it gives flexibility on variants. The big beetle is going to have to get modded a bit for castability. I'm also worried about the dragonfly leg holes, that because they are a little deep the mold might tear. Other than that though, they look spot on with the art, overall appearance should not change. I was thinking of getting 1 more mid-sized beetle done for variety.
