A skeleton army was one of the first I tried to build when I was a kid. Now that I’m a little more skilled I’m finally attempting it!

This is the first piece of what I hope will be a nice Warmaster army - in my own background, set in the Weird Renaissance, this is the army of the Fallen Empire. Constantine XI, Emperor of Byzantium, turned to dark and arcane necromancy out of desperation, in an attempt to save Constantinople from the Turk. In so doing, he’s unleashed an unprecedented scourge upon all of Europe as the bones of a thousand years of Byzantine warriors rise up to seek their revenge upon the allies who abandoned their glorious Fallen Empire. Constantinople itself is consumed and the kingdoms of Europe and the Italian States begin to choose sides. The Pope calls for Christendom to resist this unthinkable corruption, the advanced states of central Italy and northern Germany seek to leverage their knowledge of natural philosophy to discover new ways of war to combat the threat, and still others are subtly drawn to the power of the necrmantic forces.

These are great models and super easy to paint up nicely!

Some Skeleton Warriors - Byzantine "thematoi" footsoldiers risen from the dead to swear allegiance to the Fallen Empire and its Undying Emperor.

Great job on those, it is a pity that no one does Anubis dog headed warriors to mix in with these fellows ;)

Maybe at some point Micro world or someone will add a small line :)

Nice bone-tones on those!

Egyptian fantasy undead and myth is definitely planned. Pretty much all the art is complete for it.

A company of Skelly-Men archers. As you can tell, I’m painting at the positively blistering pace of one unit every few weeks or so.

One thing I can’t deny is how good these guys look in mass formations.
