Well they should be back very soon anyway.
I had to stop production of the original Hex2Go containers as they were wrecking the moulds due to the design.

I have had them re-done and fingers crossed they should be a lot more mould friendly now.
The basic dimensions have remained the same so they are still compatible with the old ones.

Plus… I had a few requests for a half sized container, so I have done one of them too!

Here are the printed ones that arrived today.

I have finished sanding away the few visible print lines there were so they should be all smooth and lovely.

They will go in the mould tomorrow and I will find out in a few days if they cast ok, if so then they will be on the site pronto.

These versions also ruined the moulds after a few casts.
I have some new printed masters and will try and get them cast in metal, but due to very limited funds and not wanting to have a 4th failure it could be some time, sorry..

Not a problem. I will wait patiently.

When these first came out I thought they were really nice and knew I would be purchasing some. So, I knew of their existence, but didn't know that you were having trouble with the moulds etc.... I'll keep watching your catalog.

Out of curiosity, what would people be willing to pay for metal ones?

On the resin versions there was/is no mould line.
On the metal I will (when done) have it along the middle horizontal.

AB what type of mold are you making with these? a split mold or a two part mold? I feel like you should get a decent mold life from these with atleast 50 casts per mold. Are you using mold release and baby powder?

Same moulds as all my other stuff.
I will try a 2 part mould and see if the quality is ok...

There is actually a couple questions in there that i need answered before i can really help you with your casting problem. Do you use mold release? Do you use baby powder? I'm assuming you use split molds then? and how many pulls do you get from a mold before it dies on you? I do a lot of 2 part molds the quality is very good, just more flash involved.

don't use anything to release... Casts vary on type of model. Not sure what a split mould is to be honest. BUT any pointers on making a 2 part mould would be mega appreciated...

Okay so how long do your molds last? You can pm me if you'd like. I'll take some pics of a 2 part mold that I've done and paste them here. I can not tell you how needed mold release is, the resin sucks the oils out of the silicone and dries it out causing it to crack and harden, mold release slows this process down considerably.
