I wrote a post 2013 about "Ork based squats".
In that post I argued for the similarities between Orks and Squats, pointing out that the Ork society of warbands resembled the squat guilds. As they have traditionally been archenemies it naturally follows that what Orks know of tactics they’ve picked up from their foes.

And now I see that the Ork force organization has been adopted. I would suggest you atlest read the post, some of the ideas would work even now, for instance my solution to the problems of thunderfire and Goliaths.

From what I’ve gathered Goliaths and Thunderfire has been problems for all squat lists. My suggestion was to treat them as Oddboys in the ork list. a character upgrade for Thudd gun/mole mortar/Tarantula.

I went deep in the post, even suggested making the Warrior brotherhood be comprised of:
2 Hearthguard (Nobz)
6 Warriors (Orks)
2 Berzerker (Gretching, based on the WHFB trollslayers, seeking atonement through death, hence also expendable)
And the Leviathan into kind of a gunfortress. Capable of transporting the warband.

For all intents and purposes Shooty orks, "Stubborn" rule was akin to "Power of the Waaaagh" but instead of bonus to engage it was bonus to marshall, sustain and overwatch.

Hi, so what’s the story for the squats these days?
In army forge is this the list you select yr army from?
So if this is on its way, we don’t have a current tournament list for squats at the moment?
Love the list and want to play it this week, but how far away is this from being accepted, if that’s the case?
If only a few batteps away I’m willing to play em.

This is the list in Armyforge, yes, and no, there is no tournament approved list. In order to get approved battle reports would be needed, two to four groups would have to play six to three games (12 total). I can only account for six of the reports of the 18 required for approval. If you have the time and inclination, battle reports are always appreciated and go a long way towards incorporating your ideas on balance into the list.

Cheers for fast reply.
Did the math on the batteps come out right?
12 games total, you have done 6 and need 6 more?
If that would be the case I gladly help. I usually can get 2
Games in per week if I hustle. I am trying to get some life into the Eldar Exo list 4.3 and need other fractions to Keep me and others entertained.
Like the list and the WEs Landtrain looks like a keeper for the firat time ever.
I like the S M L options people write that you could field such and such but that will cost and it will eat up your activations . I can hear my opponents already sighing over the Mole Mortars but that’s why we do Batteps.
So is it 6 games or...

18 games total, 6 from me, 12 from 2-4 other groups. Each group can contribute 6 max.

I figured that out after i wrote the last post, thanks.
Do you have another team in the pipeline so if I did six reps you could get this done?
I would love to play them and at the same time help out.

Not presently, I could ask around though. PFE might be willing.

That would be great. I am willing to do my part but it with another one onboard it feels like more of an incentive hopefully the other part feels the same.
Cheers

The PDF is correct. It's 225 for just the engine. You don't get a free car, army forge should be 275 for the berserker car it includes.

Also I would suggest to change the name of Rapier if you want to keep it 30cm (i,d go with 45 for simplicity with missile launchers)
It's confusing all other rapiers (that I can think of) are 45cm and I thought it is a typo
Other remarks are in the battle report
Will probably playtest some more

Thanks for the report, I will have a look.

The Rapier was shorter range in SM/TL with the entry in the Orks & Squat Warlords book mentioning it.

Just confusing, especially that it costs 25 pts like all the other rapiers in various lists. Like lascannon is 45cm AT 5+ everywhere and that helps with memorizing it.
Maybe rework it (short range higher punch) to be more distinctive. (I don't know the specifics in the book you are referring to, just pointing out the "game" aspect)

I'm putting in a few price changes. The new PDF is on the first post: https://www.tacticalwargames.net/taccmd ... 32#p624832.

  • The Guild Squadron dropped to 150/275/375
  • The Colossus and Cyclops both went up to 600
  • I re-jiggered the Land Train upgrades to mandate at least one battlecar (so the special rule enforcing at least one can be dropped.
