Were these ever made in resin/plastic as I have just acquired one from ebay and it is clearly not metal. If it is a re-cast, it is a pretty good one and holds up favourably to the metal version I have seen on here. It only cost £3 as well, so I'm not particularly put out by it. Cheers in advance.

Definate recast - only the metal was ever made.

Cheers for the quick replies.

It was http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/180816510346?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2648 this listing - the casting is pretty solid - it's certainly not plaster as I gave it a couple of pretty hard waps with a letter opener and just got a plasticy vibe from it. Better than Finecast at least.

To be fair it's a good price, cheaper than RRP, so I wouldn't be too upset with it :).

Could you photograph it from the rear? I'd like to see the mold lines across the back doors - they're quite prominent.

I'll get back to you on that one in about a month - I have currently only viewed it via a high deffinition skype line - Living in France I get all my ebay stuff sent to the parents in the UK (can save a bomb on the P&P) and they bulk deliver it when they fly over to see us and the Grandson.

Well, I finally have the collossus in my possession. It is not a "terrible" re-casting - I would put it on par with a lot of the "FineCast" models currently being pictured on the web. I will post pictures either later tonight or over the weekend. The majority of the details are present - even down to the rivets and support "X"s on the missile struts, but there are a number of faults. The tracks are not fully cast - this is not a major problem as I will probably mount the collossus on plasticard with basing material. There are a fair number of air bubbles - you will see them better on the photos (when I get round to taking them) notably at the ends of the missiles and on the turrent cannon - I will not bother to fill in any bubbles on the main chassis, just paint them up as battle damage. For £3 I am not dissapointed though - I have seen them recently go for £20+ on Ebay.
