I like the chapel ideas and ideas for list structure. I think having missions and exorcisms as core units would work. In regards to the idea of the weapon swap for retributors and battle sisters, as a way to boost retributors, I think it would be helpful to know why it changed before. I know when consul avenging angel was AC he had a poll on this subject, although the online discussion didn't have much reference to actual battle experience of either loadout. The current loadout was introduced I think in 2016 in the v1.5 of Consul avenging angels lists, and I think not long after that the Epic UK list came out. It would be great to have someone who played sisters back then to comment on how the switch in weapons changed anything, and if they would want it changed back. - I guess the danger is of then nerfing the mission too much, as it would also lose IC in ff which is very useful I find. |

Yes, I'm also very curious to hear how the Retributor change came about, both in the NetEA and the EpicUK list. Anyone who remembers? |

http://www.tacticalwargames.net/taccmd/viewtopic.php?f=130&t=29605&start=240 The change is implemented there, 10th post down. Looking through people were finding the 12xHF shots over the top. I'm not even sure the regular sisters should lose the heavy flamers. I don't really know what to do about making Retributors worthwhile, I just know that when the Rets went from having HF to having HBs they immediately stopped being worth taking. As Kapitan Montag points out losing IC on the FF would hurt the missions. Maybe give their FF IC regardless by giving them small arms: flamers and swapping the HF for an HB? Edit: could get wacky and give Retributors 8 stands, 4 rhinos, 2xHB per stand for 300pts? Or give them a Celestians upgrade, +50pts for 2xCelestians and 1 Rhino so it;s 300pts for 6 rets, 2 celestians and 4 rhinos? |

Apparently the new 'Chapter Approved' for WH40k 8th Ed. will come with a beta rule update for the SoB in there, might be worth checking out what that has, if it has any new ideas, equipment load outs or units that might change the value or what options would be reasonable. |

So, since I'm home with a mancold I've had time to read and re-read all the threads about this list in all it's defferent incarnations. That has given me a few more things to think about. I'm still on hearing peoples thoughts for the following: the proposed new list structure: 1. Should we divide the lists in 4 parts instead of 3 (Core, support, Auxiliary and Navy/WE.s)?? 2. If yes, should battle sisters alone be in the core section or can we have exorcisms too? 3. Should every core slot open 2 or 3 support slots? For Retributors i saw a suggestion about giving them 1xHB and 1xHF per stand. The only thing that was voiced against it was that one person said it might make the list to complicated. I think this is a nice "middle road" sollution myself. What say the community? Been thinking much about the Emperors Chapels too. One suggestion in another thread was to make them as transport upgrades for certain units. Thats a nice sollution. I think that giving the chapel a transport capacity of 8 and then having it as a upgrade for somewhere between 100-150p (for 1 Chapel) could work. It's crit is pretty nasty and it doesn't have TRA so it won't be that hard to take out. anyone has a reason for not doing that? They can still also bee in the WE-section with 2 for 350-375 (400 is not worth it) also? This combined with the earlier thoughts of decreasing Choirs to 225p and increasing Covens to 225p is all i want to fiddle with for the near future. If we can sort list strucutre (to avoid Coven spam), retributors and Emperors Chapels out i think we might have a ready to get approved list on our hands! |

I agree on the split into support slots. Exorcisms and Missions as core, each one opens 2 support seems fine by me. The Into the Breach winning list didn't spam Dominion formations, it took 3 exocisms and 4 missions. The Sisters list that came in third place at Into the Breach took multiple Dominion formations, 6 or 7 I believe. The split seems like it would limit/prevent abusive or boring spam lists without really stopping the list taking the stuff it needs to operate properly. |

due to time, i will be using the current 2.0 list in this thread without the core/support/aux changes for the tournament I am running this Saturday at Fall In. I can start playtesting the new changes after. I plan to bring a list with units not seen often and see how they operate/work together. i should have something on my blog next week and photos also. thanks kal |

I wouldl ove to hear a report on how they fared. Great that you can do some testing too! There will be a 2.1 list shortly where the structual changes will be happening. Making Retributors Great Again and Emperors chapels are the other two things i need to work out also. Then i think we're good to go for approved. |

No time for playtesting yet from me. But I will soon. Also spotted a few things in the 2.02 list. Purgeance: should say repressors not suppressors. Coven: should have 4 dominions not 2 Also should the Cathedral be 650? It seemed to me to be overpriced at 550 ( but of course that could just be me not working out the best way to use it - any tactics tips would be much appreciated!) |
