Recently I put a 6mm Inquisitorial Gun Cutter up on Shapeways to use in a game of Dark Heresy with my gaming group. Just today I saw there's a Gun Cutter in the Ordo Xenos list, so I figured I would share this with you all! I know the armament isn't exactly right for the list, but it makes for a good proxy. I'll put up a painted example tomorrow. Like most Shapeways Epic models, it looks reasonably good in the Strong and Flexible material if you're careful about edge highlighting to bring out the shape, and is more durable for gaming, but looks best in Frosted Detail. Here's a (poor) photo of a painted example, printed in White, Strong, and Flexible, pressed onto a removable GW flight stand: |

Let's face it, do we really need any of these models? (Thanks, jimmyzimms!) Fair warning too, this is a "true scale" model, by which I mean 1:285. At 10 cm length, it clocks in slightly longer than a 1:285 scale Thunderhawk, which I believe is a little bigger than the Epic FW Thunderhawk. It's a big aircraft, but Inquisitors ride in style. |

First post updated with a pic of the painted model. Here's a render of the underside (if you'd asked before Saturday I would've taken an actual photo): Since it's 3D printed, it's cheapest and most efficient to make as a hollow structure. But the gaps in the bottom are on flat surfaces and could easily be covered by two pieces of plasticard if that's a concern. |
