Joking aside, I'd use the squat war engines as a general thematic guide for the Nun super vehicles here. Colossus/Leviathan<=>Chapel (transport) and Cyclops<=>Chapel (TK)

(really I just don't want to invalidate many many hard worked on models in my collection :D though I think having both is good for play)

I agree having two versions is the way forward, I'll have a tinker with weapon loadout and get back too you. Something like a melta cannon seems fun.

I'd give the thermal cannon a new name due too it being slightly different.

It's a great place to start. My only suggestion at the moment is to bring the FF value to 4+

This brings it in line will all DC3+ Approved WE's (and plenty are even better )

Basically I see the cathedral as a kind of large crowd suppression unit as well and should represent this in the ability to support nearby engagements more effectively/reliably

SS have always been FF5+ so it's not anything universal. Pretty sure ordinatus are as well iirc. In fact a TK specialist war engine probably has no business being FF4+

Ahh but every Warhound, reaver, gargant, fellblade, steam gargant, chaos alter, lord of battle, plague tower, questor titan, ravager titan does have 4+FF.

This thing is different from the SS (That has a 90cm range) and Ordinatus (Also a huge range). In fact most TK specialists have a huge range so they can sit back and support

If it truly was a TK Specialist vehicle i would concede the +5 ff. But it's main gun only has a range of 45cm.
With the current load out suggested it still seems designed to move up the board and support on the front lines (Which is well and good, still goes with the theme).

In this role I see it needing the the 4+ FF value (This thing would also be your BTS)

If it's roll is Blitzgaurd fire support I see the 5+ FF being fine, but the TK range would need to be increased so it would match more of an ordinatus's role of long range fire support.

On another note, the addition of rule like the Eldar have for the avatar "Critical Hit Effect: The unit is destroyed. All Eldar
formations with a unit with a line of fire to the Avatar receive a Blast
marker"


This could be used similarly as seeing such a massive sign of the Emperors glory destroyed having a negative effect on the surrounding Sisters

sorry but one of these kids is doing it's own thing [hums tune]

Half of those are walkers and their design concept has always been that their extra mobility and reaction results in higher FF values. The other half are assault transports which again, the non-tk cathedral is in the same theme. The one outlier is the LoB but that's pretty much handwavium "because Chaos" situation. The Fellblade is the "Baneblade" of the Legions and bristling with assault capabilities so again, it makes sense there. You argued for a anti-war engine platform and got it as an option. But you need to give it a weakness as basically as not you're arguing for a vehicle without tradeoffs to be introduced when compared to the other version. If you want to argue range on the big cannon then I'm right there with you and perhaps we need to be looking at it at that angle instead. Not sure why we need to create a new weapon as opposed to simply taking one the myriad of existing TK systems already around (what's wrong with a big fat Volcano Cannon?)

Great call on the missing critical. I'm not sure a DC6 we should be destroyed vs immobilized or perhaps just a simple +1 damage. I like the BM on the other formations. Very thematic!

Again I agree with jimmyzimms on the FF issue, why I choose the new weapon system was purely to give it it's own flavour. I did think of the volcano cannon but with its increased movement and walker that seemed OTT. As for the weapon range it could be extended but I thought too keep low because of the thermal cannon 30cm range.
As for the critical effect I would like to see more battle reps with the cathedral in before changing that.

Personally I feel like it's a little too light on anti-infantry weaponry for a 4+ firefight. Most other high FF units seem to base it on their close range capabilities against infantry (see Predator Destructor vs. Annihilator's FF values)

Fair discourse gents, I concede.

Let's look at the range option then, because unless it can actually reach out and hit people I don't see it a real good choice for the army at all. It Just sits too much in the middle between wanting to be a good TK fire support BTS BLITZ (But not being able to really do that role with the range) to being a dangerous mid battlefield support machine to run up to secure objectives.

Oh and my idea for the crit wasn't destroyed - just the idea that when it is destroyed it puts a BM on all SoB units in sight :)

ACC, would love to see that new pdf drop as I would love to take the sisters for a spin at a minigeddon event next weekend :)

Will take pics and do a quick AAR of each game
