In one way I dislike when they do things like that, in another I find it somewhat funny. Along comes someone and in one article or sourcebook he can desolve years of fluff. 
Jervis said the guys who write this stuff do not like the word "fluff" but with how they can just up and change it I think the word Fluff is just the right word.

Again, according to the SM-1 templates, generally, SM Rgts may have 0-12 dets of Vindicator/Whirlwind dets.
A det.= 3 vehicles. ?

Its old Compenidum stuff. I made a copy before I ditched all my old 40k stuff. Many, many years ago. In fact it wasnt far from new at the time
I did not like the game whatsoever, my the background in it led me to Epic, so I still give it thanks

Detachment Command
0-1 Lieutenant Commander
0-1 Captain
1 Lieutenant
0-3 Chaplains1-6 Librarians
0-6d6 Techmarines (!)
1-4 Medics
0-8 Tactical Squads
0-4 Assault Squads
0-2 Devestator Squads
0-1 Terminator Captain
0-4 Tactical Terminator Squads
0-4 Terminator Librarians
A little different to more recent lists eh?

Hi!
The chain of command was clearer back then and there wasn't that big a dominance of the "heroes" as there is now.
I think a "chapter master" should only appear when the whole chapter is fielded, like in a epic game, not crumy little "skirmishes" as in 40k.
Different philosophies.....

I agree with you Primarch- a huge battle like Epic games portray is a far more suitable place for these main commanders to appear in; directing troops around, using their inspiring prescense to the full, rather than in the little "patrol" battles that 40k games represent- I guess they just add extra interest to the battlefield.... or something..

The only thing I didn't like in the old armylists was that _every_ vehicle (including Thudd guns and such) had to be shepherded by a Techmarine (or AM in case of IG).
