Post subject:  Make own WW2 German Scifi line, Basics

Hello,

I have a good conservation with other guys over the idea to see German WW2 miniatures for 6mm.

So far i didn't like concepts over the years to see Germans as Orcs (Thank you GW). I see too many Anglo-british inspired designs for vehicles.

I like the Helghast from Sonys Killzone and the Anime Jin Roh. And guys, many late war german concepts look futuristic like the Rutscher.

In all WW2 miniature Games are the Germans the big seller. Why? Their are sexy! The Solution is to make my own Miniatures.

The problem is , i'm a absolutly noob. The financial side is not a point here. I think i lose lots of money when i make it. I need Advice and then i must drink lots of German Pilsener Beer to think over it.

1. Concept Art.
I'm not talented enough to make my own. That is not good. I life in Berlin, Germany. My priority is to know a artist who life in Berlin or in Germany. I prefer to speak german. It is easier for my. Then Europe and last the rest of the World. In the backhand i know a guy from india.

2. Master making
Green and old school vs 3D model
I know one guy who make fantastic 6mm miniatures and have offered me to make for me miniatures. But is very expensive.

Onslaught make 3d models i think. I prefer it a little bit. A 3d model for infantry can have many poses. What is a good 3d printer or which uses the manufacturer here? I think it is SLA.

Is it practical or what is the best affordable 3D printer. Infantry is tricky i think, but Vehicle are okay i think.

3. Production.
Services or make it self. I know a spin casting machine fir 1.200 Euro that advert for miniature making.

Is it practical? I need a oven for the white metal and what is the noise? I must make it in my living room and dont know how are neighbours reaction.

Another firm. I know Age of Tyrants use Hysterical Games as partner. Who know more firms or have a service like this?

For Suggestions or advice this thread or write me personaly to mictator@gmail.com please.

When my skills in green stuff sculpting will improve I will do some more WWII-ish scifi Germans and maybe you will like them. At the moment I am not satisfied with my reasults, though I hope they will get better ;)

Check my tread to see my actual sculpts

See the Italian for bringing your thoughts to life, he will green stuff your designs into reality and get them produced in metal for you. The last comission i gave him was for 5 fantasy sculpts, and they came out just as i had imagined. You can alter your design and give photos or drawings of the idea you have in mind for the minature.

I can not stress how much of an enjoyable experiance it is, and cost wise you will be very suprized at how little your dream minatures can come to life. ;)

I have never comissioned any of the CAD chaps on here so do not know how much the outlay is, but most are very busy i should imagine,

What ever way you go, just make sure you do it, every true 6mm minature nutter should have at least one minature designed for themselves at some stage in their lives, its the law ;D

Patience is the key. It is only a hobby project for me. I know the italian. But he is expensive and greens have one pose only

You cant expect them to be as cheap as chips though LOL, even cad will cost as the designer still needs paying and even if they can supply various different sculpts, you still have to make a mould of the all to have them cast.

I do love the cad designs and the minatures they produce such as vanguards stuff etc, as its proper crisp and sharp details, but still have plenty of love for italian stuff, as its scaled so well, normally greens sculpts are all over the place but his are spot on ;)

Glad to see you taking my advice onboard here somewhat. It's never been more doable to get your ideas out there under your own steam and I can't wait to see what you can come up with. I for one would love to see some sci-fi Wehrmacht cluttering up the battlegrounds of the far future.

Consider this thread subscribed to once it reaches fruition.

For AFV concepts/ideas :

Check out GHQs Wehrmacht '47 line - http://www.ghqmodels.com/store/military ... rmour.html The line also has "advanced" German late WWII Infantry ....

Also Masters of Military, he has number of German AFVs, etc. , the were on the drawing board at war's end. Like the E-100 series, Panzer VII Lowe, various Maus Types and much more -

And the RATTE - https://www.shapeways.com/search?q=Ratte+Tank&type=

Possible inspiration - the Dreamforge Eisenkern, without a doubt my favourite "sci fi ww2 germans":

Unfortunately, only available in 28mm.
