Post subject:  Space Dwarf "Vole" Tunneling Assault Vehicle
Here is my take on the Mole. The assault tunneler can be mounted on the truck in the transport position or the launch position with the bed raised. The set also includes a partial tunneling vehicle (sort of like how in naval gaming you have "waterline" models) that can be used to show where the vehicle emerges to dispense its cargo of infantry.

The set consists of the assault tunneler (in two halves, to reduce material cost), carrier truck, launch bed, hydraulic piston, and waterline version of the tunneler.

I went with a wheeled vehicle because I kind of like the low-slung look of the Russian ICBM haulers:

Great design, only thing that always bothered me about squat tunnler design is that their drills are pointed but industrial scale tunnel drills have more of a flat/snub front.

Yeah, I know, but I figured that this was more distinctly recognizable on the table, so I stuck with the tapered-drill design. I waffled between this design or more of a spiral auger, but this one won out.

Fair enough, as my dad used to be a tunneling engineer would have felt disloyal not making that comment :roll:
