Here are two more ideas. Not sure I care too much for this first one; it was based on the wings of the Necron fighters.

I really liked this one while I was making it, but then I stood back and realized that it looks like an art deco Stargate, which I'm sure will turn some people off.

Quick update: The orb is live!

I lowered the shield bits, eliminated the front one, and added the finger-like pieces from the Monolith to the back. Those pieces are all separate, too, so the gamer can pick and choose. I'm thinking now about doing a second Aeonic Orb that is more horizontal than vertical. I'll have to think on that one a bit.

It's 67mm tall, which makes it just about on par with the old beetleback Titans, but when you put it on a flight base, it will probably top out around 80mm tall.
