Thank you guys!

@Malika: These are roughly "large-frigate" sized, while the one you saw are probably the cruiser\light-cruiser size...

These are 45.6mm long, 13.3 mm wide and 34.1mm tall, while the larger ones are 72mm long, 17.5 mm wide and 34.4mm tall.

By the way, I forgot to post it before, I've also made a Q-ship version!

I think I can do some chaotic versions, although I'd like to keep the vertical cargo slots for them, too, as the look bulkier... I'm not sure how to concile them with the chaotic prows, though, do you have any ideas?

Cheers!

Hmm, maybe keep the same prow, but remove the Imperial Eagle, replacing it for spikes or an Eight Pointed Star? Note that most of the Chaos ships are simply Imperial designs. So it's nice to see those links as well!

Hey Armand! Been awhile since we've seen you around these parts! Anything new to show off?

Hi there, I'm still breathing!

Not much to show, really, my real job has been quite demanding these late months (i've had to travel in a couple "almost" warzones, among the rest...)

I'm still doing a bit of work when I have the time, though, I've worked on a few 6mm models for personal use that I don't think I can show here on the forum, and at the moment I'm trying to complete a Space Merchant battleship!

Why can't you show those 6mm models? Are they too 'adult' oriented? ;-)

Well I'd like to avoid too risky similarities, but we'll see ;)

Hahah, not really! They might be problematic for other reasons... Here, I'll give you a small example (I'll take the pic down in a while):

Nothing wrong with those. Simply Sci fiction British Challenger tanks to me.
Well done.

As to the fancy eagle prowed Battleship, I figure that some our mutual antipodean resin expert can help out with :)

I suppose you're right, although they're more inspired by Tigers as I modelled them for my Steel Legion :)

I'm not sure if I would be ok putting them up for sale, though...

How about these? :D

Looks great! Anything you make stick up on shapeways. Just call them Doom Warhead Launcher or something. You made it yourself and its name would be different so add it up there!

Can I be the lone voice of caution here? I know I don't post around here much anymore, but I think Armand has a vast collection of minis that are awesome and I'd hate for him to take unnecessary risks.

Jimmy's totally right that you're drawing from a common inspiration, but if you feel a design is too close, then you might want to change it a bit, and make sure your title demonstrates your sources.

Remember, even with a legit case like yours, if you can you want to be outside the range where they even try.

Just my $0.02. Maybe I'm being a grumpy old man again. :)

Cheers guys, I'm glad you like them!

Wellspring, I see where you're coming from, and I don't think you're being too grumpy at all.

In fact, all the models I made on that chassis were meant for personal printing only, and not even for showing; I was just thinking that they deserve better than my shoddy painting... :)

Anyhow, I think you're right, in these things it's better to be safe than sorry!
