Hello everyone!

It’s been quite a lot since I posted something, but I recently started some 3d sculpting that I’d like to share with you! By the way, I want to thank Jimmyzimms for convincing me to post these pictures!

Since the demise of the BFG miniatures line, I’ve decided to try and sculpt some components and models that I could use to complete my fleets.

So, without further ado, here’s some results of my work! I hope you enjoy them! I apologize for the low quality of some pictures, but I only have my phone, an I’m not really good at photo editing…

Disclaimer: none of these ships are for sale!

First of all, the first escorts I sculpted: same hull, one armed with batteries, one with torpedoes and one with lance + batteries; they turned out a little "fat", but I sorta like that :D.

The 3d model:

Secondly, a Strike Cruiser that is heavily inspired by the conversion bits designed by Vaaish and modeled by Mangozac (ok, I downright copied them, but Zac is not angry, he’s a great guy! :D). I modeled different prow and turret weapons, so that all options are covered. In the pictures you can see one with a standard loadout and one with prow bombardment cannon.

Finally, there is my battlecruiser; I sort of got carried with it, and it turned out quite big, in fact if it had the third weapon deck it could easily pass for a battleship...

The 3d model:

And the printed and painted model; from the render, I changed the bridge (to keep with the cathedral style) and the batteries (because I like super plasma weapons!!):

I hope you liked them! I’ve got something more to show, if you wish!

If you have any ideas, suggestions or things you would like to see modeled I would be very happy to hear them!

Wow...those are awesome! Where did you get them printed? Why not put them up on Shapeways? Is it because of the IP thing? If so, with your skills I'd just design a few of your own and put them up there! :)

Thank you a lot! I must confess that your plog has been a huge motivation... :D

I had them printed from Shapeways, FUD... I'm not putting them on sale because I'm somewhat afraid of the IP squad!

I've actually already started working on a "IP free" modular cruiser, as soon as I get it printed I'll post some pictures!

Very nice! Keep up the good work!

I do agree that the prows are a bit "tall" on the imperial ships-- somewhat space fleetish IMO-- but that cathedral top is dead sexy. Very nice work overall! I love what 3d modeling and printing is doing for the hobby.

Man, I'm tempted to make an alternative for the Ork ships that look totally different from the GW designs to go with your Imperial ships! :)

Thank you everyone!

I'd love to see them, malika! I've actually made some blueprints for ork ships, but they're just on paper for the moment!

Very curious what you'll do, many years ago I built these using the insides of broken radios and such. Then moved on to tiny pieces of metal and made this one. I'd love to revive that project again. But maybe this time on Sketchup...

Here's another great set of scratch builds for BFG over at SG Forums

Those are some of the best scratch built Orks I've seen!

This one is also a pretty awesome battleship:

More on that here.

Thank you, my friend! :D

Those are very nice ships, guys!

Ok, since you have been so nice, I've got a couple more models to show you; this time Ordnance!

Lightning strike fighters, Caestus assault rams (with less detail, since I wanted to try printing with a cheaper material) and the helldrakes to be used as bombers.

The 3d models:

And the printed and painted models (apologies for the picture quality, but they are tiny!):
