Hi,

I've been working on my 2nd ed Epic armies and found that the bikes and cavalry are pain in the the butt on the normal bases with 5 holes. Could someone who is really clever with 3d software maybe create me a 3d template to print on my Brother 3d printer. I'm looking for a standard square epic base with one bike shaped hole in the middle for landspeeders ect and one standard base template with two bike shaped bases for bike and cavalry stands. I suspect it would only take someone who could understand the software a few minutes to do and would save me alot of messing about filling each hole in square base with green stuff so I don't get silly holes in my flock :(

Dean

I just mount things like that on small 20mm square bases ... Image Or 25mm round bases ... Image

Or just get some plasticard and cut it into squares?

I can do the model for you, but need VERY accurate dimensions for it - 0.5mm is the difference between too loose and too tight.

I'll get those measurements I'd like to try I've thought of sticking to other bases ect but I'd really like to make something for the job and then once its printed I can cast them with my left over resin when I'm casting. :D

actually - you could just make the master in milliput.

make square, dust with talc, squish bike into it. after it's hard sand the edges to get a nice crisp finish.

I tried the green stuff approach it just squashes the base out of shape. sadly :( I'm not very arty I can paint to passing standard but thats about the limit my artistic talent.

If you can get a bit of thick plasticard, or some magnetic sheet you can cut it to the shape of the base, then cut a shape around the bike stand within that piece of card. If you only have to do it once, and then can cast it it should be a very little bit of work.

can help too, if you send all details. Or you can try Tinkercad. Simple tool for a simple job like that.

At a year's wait, he might have grown the bases in wood :)

With my old epic IG bikes I just cut their bases off, filled the 5 holes in the old square bases with green stuff, and super glued them on.

Very very sorry, I misread the date, and thought it was June 2014.

Those bases look good though.
