Ok, so I lied - I've got a couple of images showing the general direction I want to go:
This building sits in a 3"x3" area (the gray plane at the bottom) and is roughly 1.8" tall. This may not sound tall, but equates to about 45 feet in game terms - tall enough to block line of sight from anything short of a titan.

The roof will have a guide system on the bottom side so you can properly align your walls.

Those look great and I would definitely buy some. For windows I think they would be best left as holes, if someone wanted intact windows they could stick a sheet of (semi) transparent plastic on the inside. I also thought that blank areas above doorways large enough to stick bits of brass etch might be a cool idea.

So what's the consensus on pass-through windows? Also, roof detail - yes or no? If yes, what? Slab pattern?

I like these they look great. If you are going to have plain flat inside wall surfaces then open windows can easily be blanked off with plastic sheet.

Like them a lot. I also agree that a place to put some etched brass etc. Would be nice. Some roof detailing would be good.

Very cool mate, may I say different shapes would be cool, T and + shapes would make a great change.

Cheers

While I agree, not everyone is going to have etching to put on large blank areas - I'm kind of wary about how things will look with a big blank space.

Possibly in the future - right now the emphasis is on simplicity and keeping the cost down.

Agreed about the empty space, I could always flatten an area with hobby knife and file. So that is not neccessary after all

These look superb, I'd buy them. That said I'd be more interested in less 'square' shapes to break up the look of the standard FW blocks I already have. If these are 'stackable' to build higher buildings then this sort of solves the issue.

In terms of windows, I'd likely fill them (putting thin plastic card on the reverse). Depending on the quality of the casting process perhaps leaving them open might mean a fair bit of work tidying everything up but if not I'd be happy to see them with or without gaps for the windows.

Windows should be kept pass through. That way those who want it can have it, and those that don't can just glue card on the inside to block them off.

My vote goes to open windows and 'minimalistic' roof details (to keep cost down).

Any ideas about material options?
Will this be the next 6mm crowd funding project? ;)
