So I'm breaking into the new modular cybertanks from Microworld, and am pleased how well they scale for 3mm tanks. The other 6mm offerings in the line will make for great heavy support units - superheavies and light BOLOs, while conventional units will be from the O8 line. For an OPFOR, I'm feeling the mechs from the Microworld Kreen line - they scale up nicely as superheavy mechs - smaller than the cybertanks but still powerful.

Scalewise they are really great as crossover units. And in terms of existing scales, here's a two-module Microworld BOLO next to an old Ogre Mk. V. Very respectable!

Thanks! For these, I'll either use Dirtside II or Trike Legion Tactical, since I want to get pretty granular with the weapons and such on the BOLOs and superheavies. But I've used Horizon Wars very effectively at 3mm scale with basically no modifications.

Buddy of mine owns a copy of Horizon Wars and likes it, except the aircraft rules, which he thinks are way to much complicated.
Could you give me a link to the Trike Legion Tactical rules? My Webfu doesn´t work for these...

Conventional units are coming together - infantry and tanks! New basing scheme, too - 3mm lasercut plywood, using plain old white glue and potting sand as basing grit. Very effective, clean, easy to use. Covers those infantry bases beautifully, and avoids the acrylic paste (which goes absolutely everywhere) and toxic glues for using that heavy railroad talus. I really like the look, and the nice clean lines on the lasercut bases are pleasing to the eye. Plus, the thicker cut make them super easy to handle on the table. Wins all around.

I'm currently assuming that I'll be using Strike Legion Tactical for this setup so the first force is an ESPUN battlegroup: a BOLO Mk. XXV, an armored company, an armored infantry company, MLRS battery and AA section.

They'll either be going up against the Zaftran People's Democratic Republic, or perhaps a Mitteleuropean armored force (which would be some kind of battle exercise, since Mitteleuropa and ENSPUN are allies). O, the possibilities.

ENPUN tank and infantry color and basing scheme. I'll probably add some edging to bring out the details on the turret - the camo blends a little too well!

Thanks, guys! And L4, they're O8 "Venator" powered armor. The little three-man strips clip apart beautifully and give you three varieties of suit, so I get Tactical, Assault and Support squads, and are the go-to infantry model for ENSPUN forces. Command squads get a mix of suits and are based with five instead of four suits - commander in the middle. For the ZPDR I'm using either Soviet or WW2 American forces for their squad bases, with O8 "Badger" units as their heavy powered suit option.
