I don't doubt that when I said, I've only ever seen dark OD choppers. I should have said, but that does not mean that some could not be painted black or otherwise. Again, paint your models as you please ... 8)

Good links ... I know sometimes in photos the dark US OD looks black. And as I said, I don't doubt some choppers may be painted black. I've just never seen any ... that does not mean they didn't paint it that way ...

Fair enough :)
I have already primed one more Apache, two Chinooks, a base of trucks, a base of M-IHaveForgottenTheNumber Vulcan AA tanks based on the M119 and a base of infantry. Completion is a bit slowed down due to my Ultramarines Project in parallel :)

You mean an M167 AAA mounted on an M113 ? [ I commanded an M113 Mech Infantry Co. waaay back in my youth, '87-'89 ...] ^-^ OOPs ... missed posting this ... M167 https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/M167_VADS on M113 = M163 ... ;) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/M163_VADS The M167 version mount on the M113 is an M168. So actually it would be an M168 mounted on an M113 = M163 ;D :whistle

such a great looking vehicle and only equaled by what utter rubbish they were in combat; Couldn't hit shit and the got relegated to use as a support weapon instead of AA by the IDF in short order. I really just love the look of a bunch of SPAAG in 6mm on a table. Otter had a prototype turret for a Phalanx CIWS mounted on a Rhino right before the Grandma Wendy incident. Makes me sad it didn't get made.

Largo, can't wait to see the next painted set!

What did you use for the basing? It looks different than sand.

@Dave Blip was right, thats Vallejo stuff. A thick paste you plaster on. It comes in different variations with colourful names like "black lava" etc. This is sandy paste, the finest grain.
Didnt answer thr tufts question, thats Silhouette Mininatur Karstbüschel. Its a pretty common product in Germany, the companys name is Silhouette. Roughly 100 of these bushes are around 3-4€
