This one's on 15 hours or so and I haven't even glued anything yet! Blip - maybe we can do some brainstorming at the Exeter Entrenchment. Nitpick - living up to your name? |

We'll have to persuade brokenbayonet to do requested match-ups at the Exeter Entrenchment. |

This time an update with pictures! This is a 28mm alien objective for Infinity (as in an actual product) but it's scale-less enough that I gave it a deliberately Nurglesque colour scheme and based it to match my Death Guard. Working down from a white undercoat with lots of washes, glazes and thinned down paint to keep the vibrancy was a lot of fun. Here it is with some of the Dribbly Gribblies. Sure looks like some kind of arcane machinery of the Ruinous Powers to me... Now something that's not painting but definitely related to the army. For a while now I've wanted to do some status sheets for my superheavies as I typically run 4-5 of them at 3k and sometimes as many as 6-7 and using dice next to each one to keep track of stuff gets messy. So here's the rough test: Eventually all the photos will be replaced with photos of the finished models and they will all have specific names. Plus I need to fit a Great Unclean One on there somehow... EDIT - the three squares under each unit photo are 14mm so slightly bigger than a standard die so there will be white dice for blast markers (or physical markers on the model), red dice for damage and black dice for Void Shields. |

OK, nothing newly painted but for my war machine status sheet I needed photos of all the war machines. Turns out there are quite a few models that never got photographed after being painted! Plaguehounds, mostly still in need of some washes on the metallic areas: Plaguereapers including a rear view: Mortarion, painted long ago and recently rebased. The chain of skulls on his scythe still needs doing, as do the hands. Great Unclean One ready for base texturing. Objectives: The Capital Imperialis that's proxying for a Plague Tower: The Plaguehounds and Plaguereapers together: Last but not least, all the painted stuff together: |

Those Plaguehounds are excellent. Whats your planned base for a Plague Tower? |

Ta! I can't quite bring myself to do anything to the Capital Imperialis so it's likely to be another scratch-build. There's a second set of the track units that are on the WIP Plague Lord so I might use those with the higher end at the front and build some kind of L-shaped chassis to echo the old siege tower shape of the originals but in a bigger size. I've then got three catapults from a Man O' War ship that could go on the top as the Plague Mortar. Would be nice to work in some Skaven bells of plague censors somewhere. On a totally different tack, I got in a 4k game last night against brokenbayonet, will write up a mini-batrep. |

Yeah, I just hope they'll be available individually and not just as part of the board game. |

Woo new stuff! First, however, the bad news - after planning to get the Plaguelord done for the Exeter Entrenchment this weekend he's now gone on the back burner. This is due to lack of time and realising how few activations I'd have left over in a 3k list, I struggle anyway with Death Guard! On with the new stuff! Defilers. Yes, more Defilers. Number eight is a jellyfish-inspired floater while number nine is more turtle-like, although nothing you'd want to meet on a dark night! The basic structure is a metal Spore Mine, a hatch piece and part of a Macragge objective and a metal Hunter turret to represent their AA capabilities. Plus of course the usual gribbly Spawn tentacles. The Turtle-ator is based on the chassis from a 15mm GZG wheeled drone. The 'shell' is an old Marauder Dark Elf shield with another smaller shield glued underneath and another bit of Macragge objective to have something to glue the parts to. A short stubby tail and a tentacle with eye give it some character and a facing. Then a couple of jealously-guarded Dark Future Chainguns give it some dakka. Next step - whack some Plasticine on the bases to make them less flat, add a layer of Vallejo texture over the top and then tomorrow hopefully get them undercoated between showers/hailstorms/cloudbursts. Tuesday and Wedneseday night I'm busy, so that leaves Thursday and Friday evening to get them painted. No pressure... |
