I just wanted to say how awesome I think that terrain looks. There's a serious Rogue Trader vibe to your stuff and I mean that in all possible sense of rad that can be taken.

Hi all,

Well its Sunday evening again already, and I havent managed to paint much this week, hopefully next week Ill have a bit more spare time!

So here's what i've got done this week.....

Image

Image

I only managed to get half of my "Hector" pattern razorbacks finished, the other 3 are nearly done, so Ill save those for next weeks update.

Image

In a change of plan I decided to paint up my chapter master, as ive had these old oop models for ages...

I also ended up building some more scenery bits out of junk......

Image

Power generator

Image

Colony landing pad and control tower.

Both made out of contact lens cases, and bits of card... and a bottle top! :spin

Have a good week,

Steve

Hi!

This is a great example on how a small addition makes a great model!

Real cool!

This has to be the best looking marine army I've ever seen!

Thats very kind.

To get the white smooth, I water down the paint and apply it in thin layers, ive found that if I apply it straight from the bottle it can dry out too quickly and end up patchy and even worse lumpy and uneven.

Thanks for the feedback chaps, next up will be the bike company O0

Hi there,

I have got a bit more done over the weekend, I can almost see the light at the end of the tunnel now! ;D

Image

First up I have my bike company, 3 detachments of bikes and a bike command stand.

Image

Heres a closer look at the command stand, I cut off the plastic rider, and tried to make it look like the captain has dismounted to have a look.

Image

Image

I have also painted up my vintage Imperial robots, I went for a different colour scheme as I was getting sick of the blue and white, Im guessing they are on loan from the Mechanicus, or maybe confiscated from a rogue trader....

While I had the camera out I thought id give you an update on how the army is coming together....

Image

Here is what the army looked like in February....

Image

And here we are in June. I havent got as much done as id hoped, but im getting there..... :whistle

Oh, nearly forgot, xenos sighted in the Devos cluster......

Image

Cheers for looking,
Steve

The extra work on the bike captain really paid off. Reading the description doesn't sound like it would work, but it is a really nice idea, because it can be so hard to have two bikes on a base stand out from all the other bike bases.

I really really love the whole 60/70s scifi vibe you have going on with this force Yorkie!

it's looking super aceballs, the dismounted captain is a smart idea, and the deathwatch detachment is such a cool addition :)
