Camo: (Uses old line of GW paints)
1. Basecoat of Bestial Brown and Shadow Grey
2. Shaded with brown ink wash
3. Highlight of Commando Khaki/Fortress Grey

Red:
-For the metals I use Mephiston Red/Evil Sunz Scarlet/Wild Rider Red washed with Aggrax Earthshade
-For purity seals/robes I use Khorne Red/Wazdakka Red washed with Gryphone Sepia

Bases:
1. Using a large tank brush I use Scorched Brown:

I also drybrush infantry models on the stand with Scorched Brown at the same time to provide an undertone /help to define the details of the model.

2. Using the not-so-great large Citadel flat drybrush(can't remember what it's called, pictured in the final pic) I drybrush Cathlan Brown:


3. For the final highlight I use the Terminatus Stone(from the Citadel dry paints line) applied with medium drybrush:


The last command stand is 85% done. Just have to apply final highlights and paint the Imperial aquila on the banner before I'll be done for the month. May even paint the two Thunderbolts if I can decide on a paint scheme.

Despite being busy as hell I got a bit done last month:

I was happy with the commissar conversion, though I laughed the whole time thinking of this:

Also got a Shadowsword done and put a little work in on my Thunderbolt squadron:



I haven't decided on tank company markings yet and will have to add them whenever inspiration hits me. any suggestions would be welcomed
For July I plan to paint a Leman Russ company, finish the Thunderbolts, and possibly paint one of my Warhounds. I have a game coming up in a couple weeks against an all painted Eldar army and don't want to be the guy with bare metal

I'm not sold on the numbering on the tail, it seems that a squadron marking or symbol would have looked better. At this point I'm done with them. On to the Leman Russ company!

Almost done with the Leman Russ company:

I converted a FW Vanquisher for the command tank and made a commissar tank out of the open-topped LR turret. I'm also working a bit on a Demolisher platoon that I started long ago. I'll try to post pics later if I get a chance, though I may run out of time preparing for a camping trip (leaving tomorrow at 0500!)

though I'm sure it would be more appropriate to post this in the rules section, but I have a Leviathan that I would love to paint, but can't seem to find any rules for it. I believe the NetEA Cadian list has a listing for the Reg HQ, but I was looking for something to use it with the regular Steel Legion List. The people that I play with don't mind experimental rules and are more than willing to playtest. Any topic links would be helpful (my searches were fruitless)

@CAL001: I'm trying to crank out as much IG stuff as I can without getting burnt out before I go back to work in late August. (I teach) I have a unit of Vindicators on my desk that I've been eying pretty hard. I'll want to take my time with the SW's to make sure they don't just look like Shadow Grey Vanilla Marines

I apologize for the terrible cellphone pic. (I'm shopping for a new one today in fact...)
This will most likely do it for this month, though I do have a squadron of Demolishers that might get a little love before the month is out. I'm thinking that I might spend next month painting titans
